I would love to be part of this discussion, I support the two Gentlemen there but they are not putting their points so clearly that people may understand this topic. But the gentlemen are almost there. This is a mystery that a lot people don't understand even the preachers of today. So Sticking to the law is like putting yourself in slavery again, not that the law is bad, but sin took advantage of the law and caused people to sin. So can you stick to what sin can easily take advantage of and cause you to sin. This is why Christ came, because the law could not deliver men from sin but only Christ..

Interesting discussion I however believe that Jesus did not change the commandments but he just revealed to us the depth of the commandments and how impossible it is for human beings to keep the commandments by themselves: 1. That it is not about not taking the name of the Lord in vain but not vowing at all 2. That it is not about not committing adultery in the literal sense but looking at a woman lustfully is also committing adultery 3. That murdering is not just the actual act but hating your brother is also murder. This is not changing the literal meaning of the commandments, but it shows that the commandments are deeper that how they were taken. Looking at the law, we see our helplessness and hence the need for grace to cover us. When we are in Christ, we should produce the fruit of the spirit i.e. love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, gentleness, self control - and against such THERE IS NO LAW i.e. there is no law condemning us but this does not mean that the law is no longer there, as Elder Marufu said, the will power is still present in us to accept grace or follow the flesh and when we fall and follow the flesh, the law points out our sin (for sin is the transgression of the law) and the only recourse is to seek Christ’s grace to cover us.

You are agreeing in this discussion. It doesnt mean the law is done away with. The law is Holy and those who truly worship him in spirit and truth, the righteous are not effected by the ten commandments. Yes the law is there which says thou shalt not have any other but like the two young man are saying we only know one God and if we maintain this till our Lord comes that law has no effect on the righteous its there but NOT affected. 1 Tim 1v 9

The young man are right on vows as a way of being baptized . There is no scrpiture in the bible that asks for vows before baptism. Repentance leading to baptism is the act of the Holy Spirit. Vows is a tradition not supported by scripture usually mixed with making one a member. The 3000, Cornelius and his family , The jailer and his family there were no vows.

They don't want to take the baptismal vows but they gladly take the wedding vows, confused generation indeed. Those vows are not by fire by force, it's your declaration of faith. Let me tell you this,the Israelites have been in Egypt for 400+ years. Egypt was a pagan nation. They worshiped the gods not God the creator. They regarded the King to be a God,and was trained to be so. In all these years,the Israelites worshiped the Mighty God but they had mixed beliefs. Coming out of Egypt to some of them was Moses's wonderful work. In future the would have graven an image and worship it in honor of their savior. All other nations surrounding them worship visible gods. Not visible because of the works manifesting but visible because it's graven So God had to tell them not to be like other nations. Remember Israel was a chosen nation. At Mt Sinai,when God was with Moses on top of the mountain,the Israelites asked Aaron to make a god to replace Moses,it means they thought Moses was a God. Aaron had to make a golden calf. They were all all happy and celebrated. Even today people are still worshiping other gods despite attending every church service on Saturday, Sunday or Friday. The way people love money and can do anything for it even disobeying the Creator. The way we dress to catch-up with the trending fashion and we even forget what God said. The way we eat absolutely anything as long as we feel it's not poison forgetting the health law. The way we love worldly music and say church hymns are boring and are for the old. All this is worshiping other gods. God commanded us to keep the Sabbath holy,but we choose not to keep it,some even changed the day and some doesn't have a day at all. May I suggest to you that, thinking that the law of God,which is his character,is err it means you have another God who you think is fair enough to you. Questioning God reflects who reign in one's heart. Get me right am not saying you worship gods not God bt am suggesting that lest you change your perspective on God's word , you're guilty of doubting his righteousness. Do you know we're in the Great controversy. Satan wants to win all men and make us his worshipers. God created us so that we'll be his. Lucifer was once a worshiper of God,he had a melodious voice.
