I can’t with handle this conviction hardly anymore😢. I recently thought the Lord was reunited me and my ex. I had the signs and so did she. But she cited free will and friend zoned me. I’ve even had dreams of it happening; and not making this up, I’ve lived through them. I am now so confused. Now all I can do is pray for mercy. Just praying for her salvation and hopefully to be done as Hosea and Gomer. This has been a long three years of dreams and moments too coincidental to be coincidental. Too long of a story to type. But until then, I have to press on. May God keep her in perfect peace. In light of the days ahead. Amen

The Old testament is a powerful way to understand God's character. Most people don't know this but in heaven is nearly no rules. We have those rules here (we call 'em laws) to keep us from the paths of death. I wish you could see the angles. They're always happy.

@@aarich119 That being correct, Sin is the breaking of rules and it's punished by death. There are no law leading to death in Heaven. In fact, death itself will be thrown in hell. Therefore you can't sin against God. If something steals from you, don't fret. Remember, everyone lives forever. You'll bump into them at some point. And so what God promises is that he will adjudicate (be the Judge) between us. That's assuring given he has no corruption.

It goes beyond even this is what I think. But you are very correct in your understanding. We are finite beings traveling on a road called Infinity. As you said early on about so little in the Written Word of God on the subject and then all the if clauses and the very narrow explanation of how to behave tells you right there - Our Creator is not taken with our attempts at following rules. We were given the rules long ago. Those, having broken all of them, and those being the most important - and after all that, more rules are needed? Our failures were done by us. But our Saviour, The Saviour, Saviour is here to help. So-called scholars have long since turned spiritual writings into a reason for imposing rules upon others - they do this without looking at Scripture as One Work. It's clear today as it was clear to Jesus, I'ts One Work. Your Creator, our Creator, The Creator waits for humans to get knowledge from a Relationship, The Relationship is there to clear up any question. The Written Word of The Creator must be taken as an Entire Work - I very much liked the way you did that. God Bless all.

I know why we are declared impure. I have been married 4 times and love all my husbands but most were evil saying they were Godly men. I was not ready till I was 48 to see the evil and abuse I had been in since youth. I think we as abused women put up with sometimes unlimited abuse because that’s what have been used to. I would see that as God saving us from evil.

Moses said love your neighbor, Jesus said and also your enemies, Moses said an eye for an eye, Jesus said turn the other cheek, Moses said give her a certificate of divorce Jesus said it was not so from the beginning, whoever divorces wife or husband and marries another commits adultery, Luke 16:18 Mark 10:10, the exception clause is not adultry in the original texts, it is pornea.

Regarding the woman caught in the act of adultery: there is a more grounded interpretation with what David Pawson says. Jesus merely dismissed the case because there was no charge made... Had the charge been made, according to David's view: she would have been stoned to death according to the law. According to modern understanding and preaching, it's made out to be as though Jesus would never condone capital punishment, which is not true. Think about the thief on the cross... he had forgiveness, but he underwent the just punishment of the law.

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and everyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬. That’s the word straight from our Lord. Don’t try to change it. If you divorce your wife, you cannot marry another ever. A woman cannot marry a divorced man. The covenant with God has been broken. At the almost stoning of the woman caught in adultery the reason the elders were the first to leave the sene was 1). Jesus called out their sin first. this was because it was the elders who had the legal right to condemn her to death, and the mob would not move to stone her without their approval. 2). They themselves were condemned and so it put them in a really bad situation to be embarrassed but also to lose their position, power & their own life if the sin was bad enough.

I don't know 😕 that you can read into the text that Jesus called out the sin of the elders???? My understanding would be that the elders are more mature in their faith, ( maybe less prideful) & so are quicker to honestly search themselves & (whether they do it consciously or not) they set an example to the younger men, to stop & examine themselves, & not get caught up in the heat of the moment.

Breaking of a covenant seems to be the big deal. Adultery breaks the marriage covenant, so the one divorced for adultery broke the covenant first. I've heard some say that abusing the spouse also breaks the covenant and allowing for divorce for that reason. A man not supporting and taking care of his wife and children could be seen as breaking the covenant.

It is not oppressive, rather Godly that a man should not take back a woman who has been gone into by another man. Yahweh’s determination on such an act is true and pure. If that does not make sense to you, you likely aren’t understanding biblical marriage/patriarchy appropriate. No man within the kingdom should want to lay with a woman who has been intimate with another man after the divorce. I think this is common truth. Yahweh co-signs.

Acts 13:33 Paul said: God has completely fulfilled it to us, their children, by resurrecting Jesus; just as it is written in the SECOND PSALM: ‘You are my son; today I have become your father.’ Psalm 2: 2 The kings of the earth take their stand And high officials gather together as one Against Jehovah.. and against HIS ANOINTED ONE [Jesus]. 3 They say: “Let us tear off their shackles And throw off their ropes!” 4 The One enthroned in the heavens will laugh; Jehovah will scoff at them. 5 At that time he will speak to them in his anger And terrify them in his burning anger, 6 Saying: “I MYSELF have INSTALLED MY KING On Zion, my holy mountain.” 7 Let me proclaim the decree of Jehovah; He said to me: “You are my son; Today I have become your father. Acts 4: On hearing this, they raised their voices with one accord to God and said: “Sovereign Lord, you are the One who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them 26 The kings of the earth took their stand and the rulers gathered together as one against Jehovah and against HIS ANOINTED ONE [Jesus].’ 27 For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate with men of the nations and with peoples of Israel were gathered together in this city against YOUR HOLY SERVANT JESUS, whom YOU ANOINTED,

You made a statement about Adam and Eve being told by God that if they ate from the Tree of Good and Evil that on that day they would surely die, but he showed his mercy and did not kill them but banished them from Eden; However, if they would have never eaten of the fruit and obeyed god's command wouldn't they/us still be alive in the garden? One must remember that the Bible states in 2 Peter 3:8 states: ‘But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.' So, the word of God as always was/is true, they surely did die that day.

Yes, they did die spiritual (God is spirit) they were put out the garden of Eden (presence of God and his spirit). Then God sown skin to cover their body because they knew them that they were naked They died spiritually and became fleshly and carnal (skin deep) not spiritual even animals are more spiritual than mankind since the Fall of Adam and Eve but you have a opportunity and shot at being born again by and through Jesus Christ only so therefore repent (beg God to turn your life around and have his will and kingdom).

God raised up Israel as His own people. He did this after everyone had gone after other elohim, the fallen members of Gods heavenly counsel. If you read The Unseen Realm you will understand that His people had to be different and were held up to the Heavenly standard. Therefore taking prisoners or capitol punishment for failure make sense for what He was accomplishing. You are correct that Jesus has a longer view in mind when He answers Pharisees questions.

Men and women need one another and filling the space of desolation with honor is not necessarily a bad thing. A carnal understanding of the law means we are still under the law. A man is a person being made in the image of God. That is why the apostles call everyone "brothers" in the beginning. Its not until later (after suffering for a while) that those who love God find a wife (a great mystery) for therefore a man will leave his father and mother to be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh. I have uploaded the new testament gospel of Joseph for a few who are seeking for God's will and true comfort

One interesting thing about the woman caught in adultery is also about the law that requires two witnesses against the condemned person. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees who, on the surface, care so much about the law, are by the end of the story gone from the scene. It is now just Jesus and the woman caught in adultery. Jesus has dismissed all the witnesses! So following that law requiring two witnesses, Jesus does not condemn her. But as was said in the podcast, Jesus lets her go but with the command not to sin any more. I find Jesus's use of the law (maybe what Jon Collins would also call sleight of hand) fits with what Tim said about Jesus and his use of the law.

You're on the right track. Everything Jesus did was in accordance with the law. Once you start down this path, you may just come to the revelation that the reason Jesus had to die was two fold. It is tied directly to the law about divorce and remarriage. Read JEREMIAH chapter 3. It gives clarification to who Israel is and who Judah is. It gives clarification for what happ the and between God and Isreal, but which for not happen between God and Judah. Once you know who Israel and Judah are in this context and then carry that over to the discussions between Jesus and the Pharisees, it puts things into a whole new dimension of understanding. It really disturbs me that the Jeremiah chapter 3 and Ezekiel chapter 23 we're not included in the discussion here. In my mind estimation the discussion here is the profane surface level. It completely misses the higher level meaning and context because it does not take the teaching of the prophets and the history of the splitting of the tribes of Israel into account.

0:00 to 11:35 Prolog conversation'. 11:34 to 26:05. Divorce and remarriage per Deuteronomy 24 vs. 1-4 (the basis for Mosaic divorce is unclear: "displeases the husband" or "finds something indecent".) 26:05 to 35:18. Jesus on this same issue per Matthew 19 vs. 1-12 Marriage is a sacred union established by God, not to be broken by man. Jesus allows adultery as a basis for divorce (because the covenant bond has already been broken by the unfaithful wife?). 35:18 to 55:15. Some other laws not quoted by Jesus starting with Deuteronomy 21 vs. 10-14. In the fallen world, a woman captive from a war may be taken as a wife. If the man is not pleased with her, she is free to go wherever she chooses. This law protects and elevates the dignity of women. She is not the man's property to sell or abuse. 55:15 to end. Deuteronomy 22 v. 22 Adultery is a capital offense: death for both man and woman.

I highly recomend to anyone who trully wants to see what Jesus was doing on the Sermon on the Mount as the fulfillment to Deuteronomy 18:15 Jesus was the Fulfillment of Exposition of Laws true meaning And because Israel did not want to Listen to God on Mount of Sinai God Has held the conversation for the later date when He spoke To Israel Through His Prophet Son King Messiah Branch Rock High Priest and much more.. And When Jesus Has Finished His journey he has Enacted A new Covenant between God and God where Now Everyone who Believes the Gospel Is Part of the Family of God through His life given To Them Freely And there is no more Sin Death Law For those who are new creation And that new creation is not governed by Laws principles of daily living.. We are lead by the Spirit of Truth who has testified to those who Believe That we are Children of God.. No longer flesh and blood But New Heavenly creation which is perfect sanctified prrfected glorified by the Presence of His presence in Us... Praise Jesus

Agree it's not the law that saves us! ❤️ Men look at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. The problem in the bible is 'the heart is deceitfully wicked above all things - who can know it?' Law does show a standard, teaching our need for God's intervention. God so loved the world that he sent his only Son, that whoever believes on Him will not perish but have eternal life. So I agree too in that sense that the heart gets you to heaven, but I think it's by believing God made the way for forgiveness by bearing our sin on Jesus ("I am the Way, the Truth, the Life"). By His gift we are healed and we can love God, in purity (even though we make errors), because He first loved us!

It's silly to say that she's a passive victim. Assuming the man makes a good judgment, then she actually did something terrible. She initiated the divorce by doing the thing, and the man would be the passive victim. In real life, there's rarely a passive victim and both parties do things that cause the divorce, but it is possible for one party to be solely to blame. If one party is solely to blame, then the other party would be the passive victim, could be the man or the woman. Your discomfort with the passage does not come from having a new testament mindset. It comes from a modern sentiment that women do no wrong.

right... I've looked over and over but found no use of the word 'marriage' in Genesis. In the same way I find no use of 'husband' or 'wife', just man and woman. I do find allusions to the conditions for forming a relationship by said man and woman - the only humans in the Garden at this time, a poignant and notable point. Yet hardly a surprise given that what is being described is 'in the beginning '. I have to question the elevation of the putative interpretation of the text in support of a religious heteronormative excludatory gender-based precept. I'm somewhat surprised Tim Mackie hasn't looked beneath the surface on this matter.

I disagree about the man who divorces a woman after finding the nakedness of a thing and then she marries another and he hates her and the first man wants to marry her again and I think that our aggressively, overly feminist society compels people to be pressured in to thinking it is sexist but it is not because when you go that direction you are off course and missing the point like having eyes thought seeing not that to me the real point is that the first husband might have time to start to miss his ex wife and forget the bad things that made him divorce her and only dwell on and nice things that he misses about her and that if he is being a decent, loving man, he might consider remarrying her but God is providing a way to reassure that man and to make him slow down and think realistically instead of thinking with his nakedness and his desire for intimate nakedness that could cloud his judgement like if he was wrong about her then the second husband would never have divorced her but if the second husband has also divorced her then this should indicate that the divorce was the fault of the woman after all compared to say if a man divorced his wife and she remained alone and she still had love for her husband and she did not remarry and then maybe the husband could realize and want to remarry her and see that maybe she is capable after all because the text does say the first husband discovered the nakedness of a thing in her, it is not saying that he divorced her for no reason and is just flexing his sexist power over her it is telling us he discovered a legitimate reason to divorce her he found the naked exposure of a detestable thing about her like if she hid a thing that is worthy of divorce and he divorces her, but later misses her naked thing and misses the good things about her but she has been remarried and divorced again then this is a sign she is defiled and is not suitable for marriage because some people are just not suitable for marriage and this is just to help a man from making the same mistake again just because he, over time, forgot the valid reasons for divorcing her, this is how I feel about it because I experienced the feeling of missing an ex and the process in my mid of, over time finding myself wanting to trick myself in to wanting her back but reminding myself, she is out there being defiled by other men and letting her back would be a mistake and then remembering the real, valid reasons that she had to be kicked out in the first place and there is nothing sexist or societal about that it is timeless practicality and the ways of the Lord can be trusted

Deuteronomy 22:13-21 13) If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, 14) And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: 15) Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel’s virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: 16) And the damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; 17) And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18) And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; 19) And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days. 20) But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: 21) Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

Today the white dress is supposed to symbol purity. If a woman isn't a virgin, she doesn't supposed to put on a white dress. If she wants to marry, then go to the courthouse, but the white dress would be a lie before GOD ALMIGHTY and that woman's husband, because she isn't a virgin.

This assessment of Christ is completely wrong, as it implies that He used His own reasoning to "interpret" the Law like the religious leaders. As the God who revealed those laws to Moses in the first place, Christ didn't "interpret" the Law. He taught the Law in the way that it was originally meant to be understood.

Or worse so,she could be stoned to death. And I personally get the expression that the ancancient ancients Israelites where all about stoning. Also, we know that Jesus is the man and the congregation of the church is his wife (Revelation)… when Shekina left the first temple desolate (Eze 10) it was due to his rejection through idolatry and sun worship (adultery); when Jesus left the temple built for him (Mat 23) it was also due to his rejection - interestingly both Shekina and Jesus left the temple through the east gate and went to the mount of Olives. In both cases, the abomination of this desolation lead directly to the destruction of the temple and to the dispersement of the people… my guess is that there will be one final desolation when the Holy Spirit leaves its temple (2 Th 2 “he that restraineth”)… for Christian’s this will be a time of “Jacob’s trouble” and they must fight to hold onto the Spirit such that it blesses them… I see all these things tied together and analogous to the marriage contract… the symmetric battle between “good” and “truth”

I don't see the death or surely die that God speaks of is the type of death that man has come to believe, which is of the body. How can we man have capital punishment (a term not in Scripture) when a top command from God is not to kill a man because God made man? Cain was not slain, but protected from such fate. Yet, he was cast out of earth and from the fruits thereof. This command is amplified or detailed after Noah and family left the Ark. Then again with Moses from God's own finger. And with Jesus, if you hate a man, you have committed murder. So, God isn't speaking about death to the body, which is His temple. God clearly says He gives life and takes away life. Life is of God. No man can take it away. I see the death God speaks of for a man in disobedience to Him is separation from God, which is like unto those of the seed of Satan. It's a type of prison we enter in sin, which wages is death. This speaks to the spirit, not the carnal. Your thoughts.
