@CXVII 117 R _"A lot of bad this happened to me. I don't know if god exist anymore."_ Sorry to hear that. Of course life is difficult when bad things happen. Let me share a few thoughts. When Jesus' friend Lazarus died, he cried. We have a God who understands our pain and who understand the world is messed up. We do indeed live in a broken world, but that brokenness serves a purpose. It is only in a world where people can do evil, that good is possible. Nowhere does God promise an easy life to believers. If anything, he comes close to promising the opposite. If you look at the great figures of the Bible, all suffered significantly. And of course Jesus also suffered greatly. If there is no God, then there is actually no such thing as evil in an absolute sense - only things we like and things we don't like. For more on this subject, see "Why does God allow evil and suffering" on my channel. Hope that helps.
@titaniumsteel91145 жыл бұрын
@CXVII 117 R Question: My husband and I have been involved with the Word Faith Movement. I have become disillusioned with their theology of suffering. I know the Scripture verses that show we are to expect suffering in this life, but how can I make emotional sense out of suffering when it happens? Answer: Human suffering entered the world due to the effects of original sin. God does not cause the suffering. He simply permits it to happen in our lives. To understand suffering, we must first understand some basic principles about God. God is all-knowing. He is aware of every pain we feel and every tear we shed. He can see our entire life on earth as well as our eternal destiny. God is all-loving. He loves us more than we love ourselves and would not permit something to happen to us that would keep us from our ultimate good, which is God himself. God is all-powerful. He can bring good out of evil. Bearing these facts in mind, sometimes God permits suffering to keep us from a greater suffering later or to preserve us for a greater good. For example, you might be passed over for a seemingly great job opportunity, only to get a better one later. Or God may know a danger lurking in the job environment that could bring you physical or spiritual harm. Trusting in God helps us deal with this kind of suffering. Sometimes God permits us to suffer the consequences of our behavior. If we are sexually promiscuous, we might suffer disease, broken relationships, and other problems caused by our behavior. This suffering brings about good when we change our lives and abide by God’s laws. Further, God permits us to lose things that we have come to worship above him. For example, someone who has made money his god may suffer the shame and hardship of bankruptcy. This suffering can bring about a total dependence on God and submission to his will. God may allow suffering that has no apparent reason-a child dies, we are injured in a car accident, or a natural disaster strikes. These situations are the most difficult to understand. Yet though we do not see the reason for such suffering we know that there is one, even if it is not apparent from our limited perspective. We are particularly vulnerable and weak when we suffer because we recognize that we are not in control. Yet it is precisely at this moment that we can become our strongest, if we learn to depend on God. Christ died to save us from the loss of heaven. He did not die to save us from suffering in this world. Yet suffering need never be in vain. St. Paul says, “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of the body, that is the church . . . ” (Col 1:24). We can join our suffering with Christ’s for the sake of others. In this way suffering becomes redemptive. It is not suffering but our response to it that makes it so.

So what's wrong with attending worship services *and* having a personal relationship with God? In fact, it's the right thing to do over only attending service for the sake of going. And when you do have a personal relationship, aren't you like a mobile temple?

For more information on this video, click here to download our video notes: bit.ly/2m3cID3 In the opening pages of Genesis, we are invited to see all creation and the garden of Eden as proto-temples where God’s space and humanity’s space are one. Later biblical authors want us to see in Genesis 1-2 the ultimate reality to which Israel’s tabernacle and temple pointed as symbols. Heaven and earth are mirrors of one another in Genesis 1 (for example, the corresponding rulers above and below on days 4 and 6). In that holy overlap, God places his “image” to represent his rule and presence in creation. In Genesis 2, Eden is described as a three-tiered space - a region called “Eden” (literally, “delight”), in which is a garden, in the middle of which is a tree radiating with God’s eternal life. Similarly, in the land of Israel was the city of Jerusalem, in which was the temple, in which was the holy place with the seven-branched blossoming menorah and the Ark of the Covenant. Israel’s sacred temples were a micro-cosmos, and in Genesis 1-2 we are meant to see all creation as a macro-temple. The biblical authors saw the temple as an incarnation of God’s holy presence here on earth. It makes perfect sense, then, why Jesus called himself “greater than the temple” (Matthew 12:6), or why John says that Jesus was God’s “tabernacle dwelling” become “flesh” (John 1:14). For Israelites who understood the temple themes of Genesis 1-2, Jesus’ claim was clear and scandalous: the ultimate place where heaven and earth unite was in himself as the ultimate “image of God.” These temple themes also help us understand why John the visionary describes the new creation in Revelation 21-22 as a new Eden-Jerusalem-Temple - but with a twist: “I saw no temple [in the new creation], because the Lord God almighty and the Lamb are its temple” (Revelation 21:22). Exactly! God himself in the person of Jesus is where heaven and earth overlap, and so the new creation that radiates out from his love is itself the cosmic temple to which Genesis 1 was pointing all along.

Trusten Baker But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 【 Hebrews 11:6 】 Do you not see, O foolish man, that faith without works is of no use? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness , and he was called God's friend. You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. | Ye see, then, that out of works is man declared righteous, and not out of faith only (YLT Translation) 【 James 2: 20-24 】Faith 🤝 Works

@@salix4756 Romans 4:2 "For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. Lot's of people have made this mistake. Your getting confused with Grace, and "works" before men. Abraham was justified by his works, BEFORE MEN, but not before God! So says the scripture. Just read it below. Romans 4:1-3 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. Furthermore notice line 4 making the point AGAIN that if someone works it's not by grace, but by debt. And that debt, or that work that they are applying to their salvation, or how "good they are" or how "good they think God sees them" they will be judged by. Not judged by Grace, but they will be judged by their debt, by their own works. And personally I'd tell you only to use the KJV, their is a reason for this, do you know it?

As a Latter-day Saint, I love this. It describes something very beautiful. God's work and presence truly does stretch out across all creations. Of course, we LDS believe that God has put temples back on the earth for us to perform sacred covenants. But I see this as a continuation and a part of whats taught here.

People are always clamoring on about the Third Temple. But remember this the whole entire reason the temple was built in the first place was to house the Ark of the Covenant. They're not going to build a temple without it. Thankfully Jesus Christ is the temple because Jesus Christ is where God lives.

The temple began under Zerubabel in the book of Ezra and Nehemiah never had the ark and it wasn't there in Herod's time. The temple Jesus taught about in Matthew, the antichrist one, never mentions the ark, but it will be built.

"Jesus wasn't a Priest.." Wrong. He is Our High Priest. A Priest forever in the Order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 4:14-15, 7:17)
@dcorgan7775 жыл бұрын
Jesus wasn't a priest according to Jewish tradition and the Law. Melchizedek wasn't subject to the rules and regulations that the Levitical priesthood was and neither is Jesus. I believe this is the point they're making and it's certainly the point that scripture makes in reference to the verses you cited.
@TheMrMKultra5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i stumbled upon that, too. That's unfortunately phrased. What they meant was probably that he wasn't a priest in the jewish temple, but then again they could've said that. Definitely he is the high priest of those who want to go the way that God shows. But not a levite (also Hebrews talks about that) and a descendant of Aaron and therefore not a priest according to the flesh or the levitical law. BUT: Everything a (high) priest does on earth, Jesus does (and did once and for all) in the heavens, where the dwelling place of God really is! But they should've said that, you're right.

3:10-3:14 Jesus came to be a new priest, Jesus wasn’t a priest, he didn’t work in the temple...
@-gateofmercy96135 жыл бұрын
That's only one of the many gaffes apparently. For instance... David didn't "design the temple" . Neither the Tabernacle nor the First Temple were designed by men, they and their service were a direct revelation from God... and... there's a promise of a Third Temple (not designed by men either) in Ezekiel. There are more, but it's an interesting video. Lot's of work for sure.
@YoxxSHIxx4 жыл бұрын
@@dcorgan777 that's why he was a priest after the order of melchezedek. The old testament speaks about a king and a priest. Jesus is our king and high priest to God the Father.

Great video! I just have one question, in Ezekiel 40-48, Ezekiel walks around a new temple, describing it in great detail. If there is no new temple building to ever come, then what is the significance of these chapters in Ezekiel?
@nicsparks51325 жыл бұрын
Jacky NSA “And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.” Revelation 21:22 I can’t answer your question about the significance of the Ezekiel passage, but here’s the verse that says in the New earth there will be no physical temple.
@MaximusLight5 жыл бұрын
Not a profession by any means on this I think it has to do with the idea that for something to reach perfection it is completed in the Hebrew mindset and that it's as much about the spirit of being under God's rule as much as it is that the body is complete for that to happen as they weren't separate concepts. There's also a focus on making something functionality rather than just physical form for it being complete, (this is often way Genesis 1 can also be looked at as a temple dedication rather than just it's physical construction just like the temple of Solomon when it was finished). While it doesn't really support the thought above I also found Ezekiel 43: 10-11 helpful (via Biblegateway under the New Revised Standard Version): "10 “Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider its perfection, 11 and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple-its arrangement, its exits and entrances-its whole design and all its regulations[az] and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations."
@couldbee43485 жыл бұрын
That will be the Millennial temple--meticulously described and measured because it's literal. The place where no temple was seen by John is after Jesus makes all things new--the new heavens and the new earth.

I'm concerned that this video stops short of explaining the bigger picture of The Church as temple and ends up promoting an individualism that is all too present in Western Christianity today. Ephesians 2:21 says that, "In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord." The temple is fully realized as the body of Christ. It looks like, "From [Christ], the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." Ephesians 4:16
