Powerful Symbolism of the Vinegar The vinegar given to Jesus represents not just a physical bitterness, but the weight of human sin and rejection that Jesus willingly took on. It's a humbling reminder of the depth of his sacrifice and a call for us to recognize the cost of our redemption.

Dear fellow Christians, I must disagree with your analysis. First vinegar is acidic which is sour not bitter!! Second, yes the vinegar is the gall (which is bitter) of Psalms 22; indicating a mistranslation. Yes, Yeshua Ha Meshach (Jesus The Christ) did rejected the vinegar which would have eased His pain just a bit and Yeshua Ha Meshach did indeed embrace His sacrifice of His Life on this earth in order to redeem us. It was not cruelty so much as attempting to extend His time on the cross by preventing Him from dying of dehydration which would shorten His time on the cross. Yeshua Ha Meshach rejected the vinegar so as to embrace His torturous death. He loves us that much!!! Shalom.
