I recall a very godly man in the 19th century, J. C. Ryle (a contemporary of Spurgeon) thinking the Lord's return was near in his life time but he was wrong. Here we are over 150 years later but Jesus still hasn't returned. One thing we do know is the return of Jesus is nearer now than when we first believed.

@@Ebiblefellowship Mr. Camping did not believe May 21, 2011 was a "spiritual coming". He never mentioned such an idea until some of his mistaken followers tried to convince him that he was actually correct and that the date foretold a "spiritual coming." Mr. Camping taught a literal second advent of Christ on that day and it did not happen so that makes him wrong. You continue to cover up his mistake and false prediction by calling his prediction a "spiritual coming." It was not a spiritual coming nor obviously the literal coming. Mr. Camping also tried spiritualizing many scriptures that had no spiritual meaning at all.

Any child of God from the Church Age would have studied the end time passages without ability to truly understand them-because the time of the end did not come in that age (33 AD to 1988 AD). The time of the end has come in our time. And because it is the time of the end God has opened up the Scriptures to increase knowledge in His Word regarding matters of time and judgment. You can continue to conduct yourself like its just any old time in history-while we all move another step closer to the actual end of all things-but the Lord has given His saints eyes in their heads so they see exactly where they are at in time and history. Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

This belief of thinking one can tell the end of the world, has broken and ruined many families . Beginning with the Harold Camping days. People lost all of their money, relationships and family because dates you were, So sure of', did not happen!

What you mean is that people finally began living their Christian lives in all earnestness. And gave of themselves to the service of Christ. That which we're called up to do on a daily basis regardless of the time of the end or not. Secondly, its important to know that May 21, 2011 WAS the beginning of Judgment Day. And so the message God's people got out at that time May 21, 2011 Judgment Day! was essential/critical as that was the date God shut the door of heaven and ended His salvation program. Therefore any giving of one's self to such work is a thankful thing if one has proper understanding of it.

Such as? EBF's position is not based on a single verse or a 100 verses. But the whole of Scripture. Anyone familiar with our studies realizes we go verse by verse thru the Bible (for example-see our Genesis series that has gone from Genesis 1:1 thru chapter 40. EBF has done over 1000 1/2 hour or so Bible studies in Genesis alone.

This is study number 102 and this is not a simple matter. Chris is building a foundation through much Biblical evidence that points to 2033. 2033 is a doctrine and like a piece of a puzzle which builds one piece at a time, Chris is building up to that point. How does the 5 months of Rev. 9:10 fit into this? (Note, this 5 months is equivalent to the 150 days that the flood (judgement) of Noah covered the earth (Gen. 7: 24) which lead to the dry land immediately after (i.e. New Earth). Also, how does the 45 days (the blessed promise) that comes after the 1290 days (which you teach was 1994) fit in? (see Dan. 12:11-12). Remember, the children of Israel in the wilderness plus the five year conquest to Canaan was also 45 years. 45 years from the exodus to the promise land. I think you need to look hard at prophetic passages as such before proclaiming such a behemoth of a message as a 2033 AD return of the Lord and all that follows.

The 5 months is a figurate period of time representing the prolonged Judgment Day period which began May 21, 2011 and according to Biblical evidence will conclude in 2033. The dry land (or new earth did not immediately follow the 150 days-Noah & family/animals were inside the ark from the 17th day of the 2nd month in Noah's year 600 (4990 BC) until the 27th day of the 2nd month in Noah's year 601 (4989 BC). The 150 days was one figure in the chapter (there were numerous figures) that does tie in with Revelation 9's 5 month references. EBF has gone verse by verse through the book of Genesis (currently studying Genesis chapter 40). Satan’s rule over this world is likened to seven kingdoms (or mountains) in the book of Revelation: Revelation 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. This is why, in the flood account we’re told that the waters (wrath of God) prevailed over the highest hills (Satan’s kingdom of this world) for 5 months: Genesis 7:18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. 20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. 24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days. The 150 days, or 5 months identifies with the 5 months of torment mentioned in Revelation chapter 9. 5 months is a figurative number used to describe the entire prolonged judgment period, which we know has lasted for several years already. The Lord’s emphasis on the waters prevailing over the mountains indicates that the Word of God which reveals the final judgment of mankind is victorious over all the enemies of God (Satan and the nations of the world) throughout the prolonged judgment day period of time. Interestingly, we also read this in the next chapter of Genesis: Genesis 8:3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. These verses are also referencing a 5 month period of time. We know that the flood began on the 17th day of the 2nd month of Noah’s 600th year (Genesis 7:11), and the ark came to rest upon the mountains of Ararat on the 17th day of the 7th month which would have been exactly 5 months later. Once again the spiritual picture God is painting is that of Christ (typified by the ark) and His elect (typified by those within the ark) being lifted above the kingdoms of this world (the mountains they rest upon) while the world experiences the wrath of God (the waters). We also find that the mention of Ararat ties in with God’s judgment of Babylon (another type and figure used to represent the nations of the world) in the book of Jeremiah. It should be mentioned that Babylon is also likened to a mountain in the same passage: Jeremiah 51:24 And I will render unto BABYLON and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD. 25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying MOUNTAIN, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt MOUNTAIN. 27 Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of ARARET, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers. God speaks of raising up the nations against Babylon, including the kingdom of “Araret”-these nations will come against Babylon as “rough caterpillars”. The Hebrew word (#3218) translated as caterpillar is also translated as cankerworm. Strong’s indicates that it refers to creatures who lick up, or devour, and says it refers to young locusts. Of course, the idea of locusts being in view-along with the mentioning of Araret strongly connects the Scripture in Genesis 8 which tells us that after 5 months the ark rested on the mountain of Araret, with these verses in Revelation chapter 9: Revelation 9:3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. ‍

Secondly, concerning the 1335 days of Daniel 12 (45 days longer than the 1290). EBF has studied this for years and has not been able to find a way to relate it to the time of the end (as Mr. Camping himself said he had tried to do for years and was unable to do so). The 45 years becomes tantalizing once we understand that the end of the Church Age in 1988 to the year 2033 is 45 actual years-yet we cannot just assign Daniel 12 to that period of time we would need Biblical direction to do so and we haven't been able to find it. Therefore, EBF agrees with Mr. Camping that the 1335 days of Daniel chapter 12 was a period of time that went from Christ's baptism by John the Baptist on September 25th, 29 AD, until the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost in the year 33 AD.

@@Ebiblefellowship Yes. Very aware of Camping's interpretation on this, but immediate context doesn't seem to support this. I've worked tirelessly on this passage, likewise, and searched other expository works...to no avail! The only other significant 45 year period I find is the aforementioned exodus-to- Canaan conquest. I firmly believe this portion of Daniel is still "sealed".
