I was 19 years old at my first rave when my mates older brother said to me “here ya go kid, take one of these, do half now and see how you go”....well the next thing I know I’m 38, engaged to be married and raising 2 kids. Still can’t seem to figure out where the last 20 years went, but I wouldn’t change them for the world. The journey which I embarked on from that night 20 years ago was one which changed me as a person, made me see life and other people in a completely different way, a better way, which only those of you who know what I’m talking about will fully understand. Despite frying probably a million brain cells along the way, I have a mind full of the most amazing and beautiful memories which I will cherish for the rest of my life. For the most part, these memories make me smile, but sometimes they make my heart sink when I think that it’s all over now, those crazy care free days are now in the past and will never return. To all the young ravers who read my comment, savor and relish every moment of your youth, many of you may not yet appreciate that you’re living the greatest days of your life....and trust me, they flash past you in the blink of an eye. “Don’t be sad because it’s gone...smile because it happened.” There’s no school like the old school. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat if I could. Time goes too fast.

I wonder Matthew, do you enjoy life now? Do you still take MDMA occasionally? What lessons did you learn during your raving days that have stuck with you and you will teach your children?
@iknowyoureright85645 жыл бұрын
Pure truth. Sometimes it’s hard to even think about those days, because the feelings that come up were so real, and so free, nothing mattered except creating love and relationships and music and memories. Why can’t we get to 50 before have to settle down?? Would make life a better experience, though it’s ALL good. You’re not alone man, many millions feel the same.

I remember that morning, coming back with friends from my first rave. We sat in a local cafe, had a drink and got in the car. Looked at the sunrise, overwhelmed with emotions, a friend says I have a song for you ... he plays this masterpiece on his phone, the third friend who drove puts on his glasses and slowly starts the car. For the next five minutes no one said a word, I looked out the window, the sunrise warming my face. I will remember that moment, those emotions and that morning for the rest of my life.

This is by far the most beautiful comment section I've had to pleasure of reading on YT & I've only scratched the surface. I'm 49 years old & now a grandfather, every comment seems to be drawing on dormant thoughts & memories from my mind that I thought were long gone. This tune transcends music.. Last night, i was in a park in Berlin, with two friends of mine. We had a good time with some MDMA and stuff, and were on our comedown. We decided to leave the empty park at like 5 o'clock or so. We passed a group of 5 people, that listened to music at the entrance of the park. It was obviously this song. We were passing by, i only heared the snaredrum at the start of this song, and expected some breakbeat or so. But after we crossed the road, and were like 30-40m away yet, the melody set in. I instantly stopped walking, and said to my friends: hold up, i need to know the name of this song. So i walked up to that group and asked them about the name of that song. We spoke about it, and about what we have done this night etc. And they were so kind, and asked us, if we maybe wanna go back into the park with them, and watch the sunrise. It was a cloudy, foggy and cold night in Berlin, and we couldn't see nothing of the sun. But we ended up in one of the best nights of my life, drinking in a park in Berlin, with complete strangers. All because i decided to turn around and ask them for the song name. This tune really crawls beneath my skin. It makes me sad, nostalgic and happy at the same time. I don't know why. But it is beautiful. Thank you for creating this masterpiece, and bringing so many good feelings into other persons lifes, with your music.

I'm 55. Married with kids. I went to my first rave on my 20th birthday. Sunrise organised it in a field in Longwick Buckinghamshire. Many now describe it as a defining moment in the UK acid house scene. First rave. First Ecstasy. Magic. Bucksfizz to mellow the come down as the sun rose. 10,000 people dancing in a field. No trouble. All loved up. I miss those days. I was away with the fairies from 89 to 92😃

I was a raver from late 87 to 91. It was a time like no other, truly a time when people gathered for a common cause - to dance and have fun. The music, the people, the places (motorway subways!), the vibe. The times are gone but the memories live on. My 22 year old son recently introduced me to this tune, reading the narratives and hearing the music I felt a bond. This is now high in my playlist. Thank you. ❤

Brooo. That's so absolutely true. It's been three years already, and every time I listen to this, goosebumps goes down my whole body.

As soon as this song comes on I'm instantly washed over with chills and goosebumps, it makes me feel something I can't describe with words except ecstasy, all my problems go away, I feel like I'm floating.

It’s 7:43am in the morning and I’ve been listening to this song the whole night, thinking and dreaming of the days I had before the lockdown which simply has no end. I really miss feeling alive, spending the most beautiful days of my life with my friends. Experiencing different kind of emotions with every cell of my body in. every. single. second. Damn. Miss those days. I wish mental and physical health to all of you. May we find peace through this song over and over again.

I’ll second that, I’ve been listening to it all night to it’s 4am lol. Idk how much longer I can deal with this lockdown bolloks anymore I’ve got a minimum of 8 weeks before I go back to college by witch time I’ll have a month left around the people making the last stepping stone for my education I’m really going to miss them but I think I’m more sad I haven’t been able to make memories in my primary years this started when I was 16 now I’m 18 in 9 days......fuck man

I know what you mean... Take care and be strong. One day we will have a chance to get back again. I just hope I won't be too old by then. 💙

@@Duxhorne I hope you had a wonderful birthday despite the covid situation. 18 is so young event hough you may not feel like it, you will have plenty of time to party and create amazing memories once this is all over. I'm 24 and I can't wait to get back raving with my friends. You've got this!
