hybrid is a jack of all trades, master of non type of thing. You pretty much need full pen c20 gear to make hybrid semi viable, although when you're hard cap gear, you're going to stat check nearly anyone either way

Great video! You nailed it 👏 I play on console without artifacts and currently were capped to c10 right now. Im running 294ap 398dp 690gs evasion mystic, and I can honestly say to anyone watching this from console community: if youre playing evasion and your friends tell you evasion will be dead in a ditch in the near future, that is not the case at all and it's worth sticking with it. My advice is if you like any of said classes that can run either dr or evasion and you're not already fully committed to one build or the other in terms of caphras in gear and full pen - consider both choices carefully and make your decision based on your end goal and stick it out to the end because both dr and evasion can be strong but you shouldn't measusre the strength of the build youre aiming for based on how it currently performs. Different items boost stats significantly and make you meet new defensive milestones. Another thing I suggest to people chasing evasion builds is to keep a track of your gear progress on the garmoth website to measure your opponents hit rates, check out what elixirs & buffs to run and test your stats with different offhands 👍

It's all good, the more people claim evasion is useless and the more people focus on DR the less people will feel accuracy accessories are worth the investment. Evasion is only going to get better. This goes for PC and console.

Thanks for the console input. I used to run a kuno and nova so it made since to stay with dr before but I’ve tagged a striker now and am thinking that I need to swap over to evasion. I’m not really worried about pvp tbh with the siege changes the pvp scene kinda soured for me. So my big question would be does Evasion significantly outperform dr at spots like oluns and ash?

That was a really good explanation, but, for new or lost players, just 1 more tip: Even if u have hell of a good dr/eva build, u will still be oneshoted BeCauSe PA *drunk* ClaSs balAnCe kappa. I play mainly succ lahn for pve and pvp, regardless of our none existing pvp dmg and accuracy, i still get 2-shot by 281+ap classes even when i have 690 gs 391dp dr at the moment. I swapped my c9 DR to evasion at the caphras event ( i have pen bheg urugon muskan leebur), and yes, i felt a bit more tanky, but still 2-3shoted by any player at orcs/monastery/rbf etc. Even testing pvp arenas with some friends who went with 277ap, still managed to kill me with 1 combo on the ground, maybe 5 or 6 skills. So i came back to DR build for a better pve/acc dmg. Don't worry if u keep being oneshoted, sometimes ur class is not in a good shape at the moment due to class balance, choose the build u feel good with and go hard on it =)

Well it depends on your class, Gear and the enemys class and Gear. Lahn is a squishy class, a glas cannon. She deals good damage, but isnt that tanky. Try the same with a Mystic with your 391 DP and you see that she is alot more tanky. I am myself a Sorc main and i use DR Gear. She could be relativly tanky with Evasion, but wouldned deal the damage i want, so for me, DR is better. Its not necessary the class balancing that makes you get one shotted (even tho we are in a one shot meta anyway ^^), some classes are litterly alot more tanky then others. Thats because they designed that way. Problem is when those tanky classes also deals alot of damage, when others are one shotted when you just look at them.

@@SkytheLP Well, i know lahn is a glass canon, but her damage is not good enough (even more in succ at pvp, when u have only 5 skills, that don't cast fast enough to combo somebody on the ground and not enough pvp dmg to deal 5k hp dmg), not because is my main, but because she lacks a lot of acc on skills (she has 1-2-3% acc on skills average) and on top of that, PA keeps nerfing her, and in a meta of "oneshot" and SA trades, u can't trade as a glass canon, but also u can't oneshot with this lack of acc and pvp dmg. Other glass canon as assassins like ninja or kuno, waste much less stamina, have alot of CC to apply and tons of dmg. Ninjas can combo u on the floor and kill u with no problems at all with 4-5skills but me, with 10+ ap, can barely deal 80-85% of their dmg, both with DR builds... But ppl keep complaining about lahn grabs so nefs keep hitting us hard. I hope really PA balance the pvp dmg cc and this stuffs with the new ranked arena, where u can see how every class perform with the same exacts stats. Totally agree, the problem is super tank classes dealing more dmg than assasins.

I played lahn awa for 1 year, and right now i've been playing succ for 14-15 months, so i know what i'm talking about. I'm in touch with some really really really good korean lahns and they all are complaining about the same things, players with 730+ GS and some of them are rerolling from her because with that GS they can't face some classes in 1v1 and barely do something at nodes VS players with 720-730 Gs like them... She is not bad, but not as OP as most ppl claim dude. She only have 3 useful DS to keep ppl on the ground and none of them have more than 50% chances to land, u really need to be veeeeeery lucky to reset the CC chain and most of the times, as an assassin, u dont have enought damage to 100-0 some classes that got really tanky atm like valks, warriors, zerks, mystic etc. PLEASE, dont send me to study a class that i've been playing for 2 and a half years. TY =)

Hey, i do try my best to respond to any questions yes :) I think if you go about it in the correct order; Chest/Helmt > Gloves > Boots, then yeah you can and prolly should just go eva right out the gate when you are buying your PEN gear

If Corsair has evasion class modifiers why wouldn’t it be put under evasion classes? As well with Awakening having the “mist” bonus which gives % evasion buffs on top of that.

I main mystic and tagged a Lahn before I took a break but even the Lahn has better base stats of evasion than the mystic now .. kinda lost on what to do ..

Yep, still apply - if anything more classes are in the evasion group now from the "can be both". If your class has evasion passives or buffs, you should prolly build evasion nowadays! =)

DR is, generally, better than Evasion in Large scale, because you deal more dmg. So if you hit more ppl, your higher dmg hits more players. But if you have more ppl hitting you, the increase in tankiness from Evasion isnt as noticeable. Hope that made sense =)

I play Sorceress and I am using DR build. It is not my playstyle fighting 1 v X or X v X. Most of the time I play 1 v 1 and since I have s I do not use evasion. I want burst DMG so I made balanced build using AP/Human DMG and Accuracy. I have only 575GS but it was fun mocking Striker with 680GS.

Sorc is one of those classes that she would be an amazing evasion class if she actually needed defense. A good sorc will soak most of the DMG onto her s. So... If you don't need defense that much, you can focus more on ap/accu/human DMG and get a dr set. Completely agreed

Yep! Its the reason i like to use Sorc as an example, because its one of the classes that is very well understood to be super powerful building DR/dmg on! But it dosnt mean you cant, or should't, build evasion =) If it fits your playstyle/content, then building dr is exactly what you should do!

Either 575gs was a typo or that striker was clueless and running some paper DR build. Aint no way a 575 sorc is killing 680 strikers who build and play properly, not unless your down smash RNG is god like enough to keep him cc'd for 5-6 combos and even then the odds aren't on your side unless he's afk with no pots.

I dont get the point at 5:25. 10% is 10%, no matter how many ppl hit you. If you evade 10% of 1 guys hits =10% surviveability, then you also evade 10% of the hits of each of the 10 ppl hitting you which also results in 10% surviveability. Doesnt make sense to me.

Lets say you have 1000hp, and you gain 100 more (10%). If 1 guy is hitting you, he has to deal 100 more dmg than before to kill you. If 2 guys are hitting you, they only need to deal 50 more dmg each to kill you, than they did before.

a little addon regarding accuracy offhand, at least lahns also has high evasion stats. So it synergises very well with evasion builds, when ever an evasion build needs that extra accuracy using the accuracy offhand also gets you higher evasion stats for the build.

Hey guys, i back to the game in the last month. I`m a striker with a musah tagged. I have 282/337 and i`m a little lost about DR or EVA. For now my concern is about PVE and when i get 680+ it is gonna be pvp and pve. So, should i got evasion since now (i know with this gs evasion is meme but playing i can improve till it be good) or should i go DR until C12 and switch to eva then? Ty btw

I did a video on the scaling of Evasion (the evasion pvp guide on my channel). The TLDR is that, if you do it in the right order, you will NOT be less tanky than DR when building evasion at any point. But, you are right you wont be actually tanky, untill later on. Musa and Striker are both amazing as Eva, so i would be going that route if i were you. Watch my Evasion guide on how to build it, but id go eva straight away at pen gear, no need to swap at c12

Evasion has an advantage for those spots specifically, even on DR classes! I do have an Ash Forest guide worth checking out! Just note, that it was made before Artifacts, so by adding them in with a proper setup, you can lower your reqs quite abit =)

Surprising to see Evasion vs DR video when I yesterday went over analyzing myself if I should go evasion or not, right now 660 GS DR awake musa. For now I'll hold it off I guess until c9 (im c7, c10 helmet ready for upgrade and tri fallen god). I worry just that if I swapped now my 294ap with kutum wouldn't be enough to hurt anyone anymore :D If I somehow managed to finally get 7 more ap to get over 301 ap then I wouldn't worry and go ahead, but for now I am holding it off... @@JonModafokin1 apparently Musa now has better accu than hash after rework and addition of eradicate, so I don't worry that much about accuracy. Tho I feel like in EU we have more prevalence for DR builds, so lowering your ap is a bit of a no-no

I am a Evasion Lahn and have to say, that Crypt is hell for me. It seems like the Monsters have so much Accuracy, that i basically get hit every time. I thought about switching to DR because i want to play Drakania, but decided to use my Drakania only for grinding for now. I just don't know if switching to DR is a good idea. I should have switched during the Caphras Event, now i would loose billions on Caphras. Good video, u explained it really good. I do think tho, that DR is better for the classes in the middle, when u do mostly PvE. When u do PvP and or use Nouver, u loose too much AP when using the Accuracy Offhand for Crypt tho.

You still want a Kutum for pve! So no worries about that =) If you are DR, you want Nouver for pvp, and a kutum for pve. If you are evasion, you use kutum for both.

I ran that myself for quite a while (sold my PEN nouver too). I lost a bit of "pvp power" but i gained a massive "pve power" by doing it. I used to run 2x pen narc and nouver, and i was 309ap, but i was only 297ap in pve because i would run narcs + kutum. So i switched to run DR with Distos, and kutum, so i was 305ap in both pvp AND pve. I dont regret it. So its an option, but expect to lose a bit of value in pvp, but you gain the advantage of not losing ap when grinding.

I'm at that point where I'm deciding which path to take, but I always hear that DR is the way to go until late, late game. Has that changed with artifacts? It seems like you can easily hit 700 eva without c9 stuff anymore which seems to be the universally accepted starting point for eva.

I honestly think either could be fine. DR is the "safe" way to build, cus you can just put on a Nouver and you are gaining alot of AP to hit the high brackets, that for pvp will help alot. It's only after 305-309 ap with nouver, that that value decreases. But for pve, it dosnt matter, since you will be using Kutum on both builds anyway! As you noticed, the Artifacts helps alot at building up Evasion numbers early on, so you will be more tanky with evasion even at c9. But if its worth the dmg trade off in pvp, thats up to you!

Another thing that is important is the green evasion offhand, not all classes have it... So if your class has it, maybe you can meme kids with pepega evasion build KEKW

Pretty much spot on, only a few things I disagree on. Musa and mae really don't have an excuse to avoid going evasion anymore, it just makes way more sense. Tamer also should probably be in the DR or evasion category, her damage is nuts even at lower ap and her accuracy is solid, of course given they have no buff and passive you'll need to be very high gear before its a good idea. You could make exactly the same argument for awa ranger too. Lastly Hash goes in the DR or eva group now. He still scales really well with evasion but he lost his 12% accuracy debuff and his accuracy passive which makes DR a far more appealing choice now.

I run eva, full ap accessories with accuracy sub. Works better than kutum. This might change when fallen god sub wepon come though. So until that, accuracy sub ftw ❤️

I always get different information on eva vs dr and this was a very thorough and well thought out video. Much appreciated my man. By chance would you know what strikers base eva buff is? As a passive buff is it always running? These aspects confuse me.

So there are a few different things i mention: Passives: These are in your skill tree, and they give passive stats. Always running. Actives: These are skills that, when used, will give you a buff which will increase your evasion for the duration. Base stats: If you open your inventory and click "view my stats" you can see your "Character(Base)" stats. Im honestly not sure which of the abilities on striker gives you the evasion buff, but i know its there :D time to read through the skills ;)

Not like she scales with ap, and if she doesn't scale with DMG then getting Dr build which is DMG focused is pointless, Dr also isn't scalable, it falls off hard after certain point where evasion gets better and better the more you have. We all know Shai is a weak evasion class, but technically it's all she can build to be viable in PvP (large scale)

@@YANOS192 You should check my gearing guide on how to do it, but tldr is go dr with tet gear (change your tuvala boots to urugons, you can do that at Jetina after you grad from season), and once you go for PEN, go pen chest -> helmet -> gloves -> boots in that order, and yes at that point you can go for leeburs and muskans once you swap to pen

It's extremely depressing how every class in this game only has 2-3 builds. Where is the customization? Where is the freedom? Maybe they should have spent less time on jelly boobs and flashy combat and more on adding actual substance to combat and characters. Unless they move ninja's evasion selfbuff to a skill that has 10 or less second cooldown it's just not worth it to build evasion. In awakening that is. Succession does a lot more SA trading so you could argue that it will benefit from evasion way more. The 9% is a huge difference and without it you're unlikely to survive..

When fighting a magic user such as Wizard, Witch or Sorceress their attacks ignore evasion and you only depend on DR. This has been proven on Ninjas fighting Wizards and Wizards killing them each time.

That is not how that works. I suggest you check out my Accuracy and Evasion guides for a better understanding of the mechanics! It can be a bit confusing at times, the game really dosnt do a great job and explaining how these things work

@fatherabbacchio people who run evasion build evasion to evade damage that should've hit them. Let's say player a who runs evasion gets cc'd because he's the worse player. Gets knockdown and evades all damage done to him. Gets up wins the fight. While player b who runs Dr can just accept the loss because no matter if he knocks him down again hell just evade all damage again and lose again. So yeh evasion is just cringe for insecure shitter's and virgin striker players. Look at divios for example sure hes good with his class but he can tank 4 people with 700+ gs and he still won't die. Like bruh. Don't tell me evasion ain't cringe
