Lifesaver. I snapped my dynamo wire, this helped me to fix it! I thought my bearings were gone because of the drag, but it is normal friction of the dynamo. I used wire glue to fix the dynamo wire. Lesson learned.

I'm so glad this helped you out! It's great that you figured out the issue with the dynamo wire. The drag from the dynamo is normal, so no need to worry about the bearings! Thanks for sharing your experience, and I'm happy you were able to get it fixed! 🚴♀️⚡

Hello! Thank you for another helpful video. What kind of grease did you use for the bearings? Is it OK to use the same dark grease you used in your Nexus internal hub gear lubricating video? Kind regards.

Hi, and thanks for your comment. I'm pleased that you found the video halpful. I used a lithium grease but you can also use the internal hub gear grease. Hope this helps.🙂

I have never attempted this job because i cannot see how you can be sure if the bearings are adjusted correctly as the hub does not turn freely because of the dynamo. Incorrect adjustment is going to kill the bearings very quickly. Having watched this video i might give it a try on one of my oldest hubs as grease is definitely dried out.

Trzeba sprawdzać luz koła

Hi, thanks for your comment and apologies for not being able to get back to you sooner. You’re right that adjusting hubs with a dynamo can be tricky since the added resistance from the dynamo can make it harder to judge how freely the hub should turn. Best of luck, and feel free to ask if you run into any issues!

Great, does the axel spin smoother now?
@cyclemaintenanceacademy8 ай бұрын
Hi, and thanks for your comment. While maintaining the dynamo hub may not necessarily make it spin smoother due to the resistance, it certainly extends the lifespan of the dynamo hub, including its bearings, cups, and cones.

I have a trough axle version of the dynamo. Have you any hint for that?
@cyclemaintenanceacademy3 ай бұрын
Hi Giulio, thank you for your question, and I apologise for the delayed response. I don’t have any updates at the moment, but once I get a dynamo wheel with a thru axle, I’ll be sure to make a video on that as well.🙂

What? No replacement of the glue?
@cyclemaintenanceacademy9 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment. While replacing the glue could be a good practice it is not essential to do so.

It is better to hold the cone on the power side to adjust the bearing play with the 17 mm flat key, otherwise it can happen that the cone rotates when counteracting and the power wire breaks off. That is the unpleasant experience I had at work have.🙄
