Your handlebar looks like it's on back to front. Mine has BMX bars now but can't remember if the front stem should point forwards... I've had my EP-2 Pro 3 years now. Upgrade the cheap stuff, whack a Cane Creek Thudbuster XL seatpost, remove the Chao Yanga tires and get some Schwalbe's with Tannus Armour with Flat Out puncture protection and you have a decent 20-30mile commuter machine. Air shocks in the front are great,, but by far the best upgrades were Magura MT5e and 203mm brake rotors (buy the 'normally closed' higo Magura's). Takes it to the level of $4k bikes in performance. 11-34T Freewheel teamed with new Shimano eBike chain, running with a 60T chainring up front means no more ghost peddling either.

Funny how they mounted the stem the wrong way, but overall a good review:)😄

Could you do an in depth guide on the different settings? We have the same settings but every video online shows a different interface.

Any chance for a comparison graphic for the hill climb test? While feeling detached from the bike is a negative for taller riders, i think it's better than the alternative for a 20" wheel which is not being able to find a comfortable peddling position at all. Great review as usual. Would be great if you added the results of a simple customer service request to your reviews.
@BikeRidecom4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting! If you check out our full written review at the link below we have all the test results, and each has a graphic with comparison to other bikes. www.bikeride.com/engwe-ep-2-pro/ (you just need to scroll down the page and click "read full review" then scroll to the motor section and you will see the graphics for each hill test) You are right about the sizing, it's tough to say which is better after riding folders that do not offer any adjustment and these that can fit taller riders. I think its just nature of the beast, these folders will never replicate the geometry and ride style of other non-folding bikes. I have been hesitant to add customer service queries. We have been in contact with Engwe, and they are fast and responsive to our replies. I have found all e-bike companies are quick to respond to reviewers' questions and requests though. I have had broken items before and all brands have been very willing to send free parts if anything seems to be wrong. I'm uncertain if this is the case for single-purchase customers though, as the brands may be biased in ensuring they give the best service possible to reviewers like BikeRide. Starting in the next couple of reviews, we are going to spend a little more time talking about the manufacturer, how long they have been producing, and the track record they hold so far. To try to bring more info on the brand for you guys

I know you said that the around the max height is 6”2 but do you think that would be comfortable? I’m that height and considering getting the bike but don’t really want to if it will be too small or look weird
@BikeRidecom3 ай бұрын
I am 6' tall, and the bike was fine for me to ride and operate. These folders do feel a little small and far from your body as a taller person, especially if you are used to traditional bike sizing. So if you are looking for something that feels very fitted to your body probably best to test out a folder first to see how it feels. Most models are similar, so you can get an idea what its like on another brand of folding bike also
@NeonVisual4 ай бұрын
Yes but can you carry it, up stairs, on and off trains, etc.
@BikeRidecom4 ай бұрын
The bike weighs 66lb, so moving it up or down stairs in either its assembled or folded state will depend on the person. It is smaller than other e-bikes but will not be as easy to move as a regular bike in small spaces. I would not want to try to push through a small train door with the bike in its folded state. I have known some to put the bike into a Rubbermaid style tote to make it easier to carry in its folded state.
@NeonVisual4 ай бұрын
@@BikeRidecom I know how much it weighs, I also have home gym kit so can put 35kg on a bar, What it doesn't tell me is the weight distribution. That little handle between the cross bar and the seat is designed so you can carry it short distances, yet I've not seen anyone actually use it in a review aside from one guy briefly putting the folded bike in the back of his truck, which isn't really carrying it any distance or in it's bike unfolded form.

Thank you for the great videos! I’m glad you’re making such detailed reviews. I’m not very experienced with electric bikes, so I’m struggling to figure this out: There are global and European versions of this bike, with motor power rated at 750W and 250W, respectively. In Europe, only the 250W version is sold, not the 750W one. Am I correct in thinking that the acceleration potential, torque, and other performance metrics of these motors will be completely different? Or if the limiter is removed on the European version, will it perform like the 750W version? Thanks in advance for your response.
@BikeRidecom2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and for watching! It is challenging to say, because I have not had the chance to use a European spec version of the bike, but I would assume the speed and acceleration of the bike would differ on the 250W rated version. Maybe one of our European watchers can comment and tell us what the performance is like?

this or the engine pro 2.0? price aint a issue… i just dont like how the engine pro 2.0 can’t reach 45kmh throttle only
@BikeRidecom3 ай бұрын
The Engine Pro 2 has some nice upgrades over the EP-2 Pro such as : a more powerful 750W nominal (1200W peak), 52V - 16 Ah battery which is larger capacity and higher voltage then the Ep-2, hydraulic brakes, and rear suspension. IMO these would make the engine pro the better bike of the two. I can see online it says the top speed for throttle is 32 km/h, but it is possible that after unlocking the bike it will go to 45 km/h like the EP-2 Pro. I have not had a chance to test the bike out to see if it will. Sometimes they wont advertise this but the controller will allow it after unlocking. PAS to 45 km/h is not bad either, I do not mind pedaling to get the little bit of extra speed. With the large 750W motor it's worth it since you wont feel the work

Cheaper for Engwe to use settings to remain legal in a country by country basis. They all have the same motor and 18a controller to save production costs..
