Why can't bidders conference be held online?

Maybe because one can logon to the page and stream the conference to the whole internet? Security is very important in these conferences because sometimes critical information may be shared with bidders. Physical presence ensures that the conference is delivered only to the intended bidders and nobody else.

Well, that wasn’t very helpful. Good luck telling a gov’t agency you won’t hold a bidders conference cuz this guy taught you not to. Still need best practices when one is actually required or (per his own comments) beneficial.
