Fantastic overview full of energy and i think this game will suit you a lot. I played it multiple times on tabletop simulator and it is definitely one of my favourites despite not being able to roll the dice in real life and have in person interaction.

Wondered what you were doing with Jesse out of the house. This really is a great game for 3 to 4 players that enjoy backstabbing their friends. :) I never watched the show, but enjoyed the game. I even enjoyed this more than the X-Men version of the game (X-Men: Mutant Revolution).

From what you described it seems like a great game. Not for me, but really interesting. I'd like to see some gameplay of it though, if possible. I bet it'd be fun.

I have the original print and I've never had a game go over 90 minutes and some were under an hour.

I'd say it depends on your group, if you have competitive and experient players it will take at least 3 hrs, but there are rules to decrease that and if you play not caring too much if you win it or not the lenght should be shorter as well.

3-5 hours. With the expansion player cap increases to 7 .... and there it starts to get rough. Once we played for more than 9 hours.

Intrigue cards still doenst have unique art. I dont see reason to buy that new edition if u have the old one.

Yeah, Galeforce Nine's production value always leaves me underwhelmed. Their philosophy is to bring the game to as many gamers as possible at a lower price point.... but personally I'd like to see a deluxe version offered alongside.
