President Biden announced a new immigration program that will offer legal status for about 500,000 undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens. The plan will also create a path for them to receive permanent residency and U.S. citizenship. Mr. Biden made the announcement at an event marking the 12th anniversary of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

Just give DACA (dreamers) a permanent "resident card" green card. A lot of these migrants came into this country undocumented because their parents brought them as children. I fully support a path towards citizenship because i believe it's not their fault and i dont think they should pay for their parents sins.

The way I see it, it’s likely to face resistance from Florida and Texas like Daca. Also Daca has been used before as a bargaining chip by Republicans for various of reasons but mostly to do with the border. So he is is limit asylum seekers at the border so that cuts half of the bargain in favor of the democrats so now he’s helping a portion of Daca dreamers cutting another portion of the bargain. It’s a strategic plan, but also a semi helpful one. A possible more concrete and robust plan can be introduced later leaving the democrats with the better hand to get a better deal from the republicans.
