DST isn't really about farmers, but any kind of outside work. I didn't appreciate it until my job started to involve uploading trucks in Missoula at 6am. That switch back to standard time in winter is a life saver. Working in the dark at 5pm is a lot less bad because you're actually awake, and it's much less cold. But when I had office and swing shift jobs, I definitely wanted to freeze DST.

For lawyers, their professional code of conduct bans any action that would "give the appearance of impropriety". In other words, if a situation looks fishy from the outside then its automatically not permissible even if all rules and regulations are actually being followed in secret. Congress is not just lawyer but law-makers. They should be held to the same standard.
