Most meetings, both civil and otherwise, commence by acknowledging that we are on indigenous lands, naming each particular nation whose Peoples lived in the current geographical area long before we took it from them. In this way, we honour them and the memory of the their ancestors.

Yes. They even made them cut their hair short, Wear white peoples' clothes, and forbade them from speaking their own languages.
