Bidston Hill Windmill Was Built In 1800s as a replacement to a mill that stood here
that ws destroyed in 1791 in high winds as the sails revolved so fast that the friction
caised the machinary to ignite
this tower mill ground corn to flour for 75 years and could 122 Ib of flour every
3-5 minutes depending on wind speed.
the cap at the top of the windmill can rotate 360 degrees so the sails can be
turned into the wind.
the wooden chain wheel that needs replacing was used to turn the roof
around using the rack and gear system.

Yes it needs to be totally restored martin i think of it as something in liverpool it would be looked at. but no parking and as for the council its in a perfect place for them..out of sight out of mind. Shame this should be seen as a national tresure. Cheers Martin.

Dennis if you are watching this superb sensitive caring intelligent video that is full of historial interest and respect for the place you will see what a huge valuable opportunity you and only you were responsible for allowing to be missed for the location you considered Dave not up to representing well enough. The utter travesty and disservice you did for the location that was to be his next video and the good Dave could have done promoting the need for restoration funding as he so wonderfully did here is truly unbelievable. yes his loss paula it would of been a good video to but never mind he not on the list. shame but it would of took me 1 hour and it would of helped the trust out so much. Thankyou anyway paula we tried and thats all we can do, and we have loads of great videos coming.
