Salute, too all CNC 's buddies! Currently I'm using Biesse Rover 4.40 and run into issue that Biesse stopped accept CIX file that comes out with GCode from Mozaik software. So , in order to run the job I must to convert CIX file to ISO with the ButchRun that's annoying. Question:- Does someone know where on the Computer should I check out box with turning on accepting CIX files again. Mucho Gracias. Looking forward to get an answer.

Hey mate. Great videos, really helpful, I have a rover 24 with nc1000 controller. Having an issue where I can't find the files when I go to run a program that I have saved from Aspire. The files are definetely in the right folder but the editor wont update the folder even though I have pressed refresh etc. Any idea what the issue may be. Thanks again
@thecrazycncguy7500 Жыл бұрын
Hey Lachlan! My first thought is that there are two folders named very similarly. If you are for sure the editor is looking in the correct folder my only other thought is the issue that Win XP has with file names. if you have the wrong extentions (yourfile.anc) then it may not see the file. Likewise if the file name has spaces in it like (your file.anc) it won't work or if you have extra dots like (your.file.anc) that won't work either. When I teach young people that have never dealt with XP they look at me crosseyed and think I'm just being OCD about file naming structure. Then they run in to these types of problems. Look for a guide for Win XP file naming rules and see if any of these are being broken. An example name of a file I might send is as follows: JOB_1234_1of4_3qtrPLY.anc which translates as the job name / job number / first of four sheets of code / material to be cut. Hope this helps!

@thecrazycncguy7500 Thanks heaps. You were right. There was a duplicate folder hidden deep in the computer, took ages to find it. Thanks again. Any help would be awesome, complete newbie haha

@@lachlangibbs-lz1gb the name of the tool in the Aspire tool table has to match the name in the Biesse. Go into the tooling in Aspire and find something like "tool notes" or "Details" Also - go to the Biesse and find the tool in the tool table and write down exactly how it is named. That's the name you have to give the tools in your programming software. See if this video helps....kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5-ckoiIj8RqaNE

@@thecrazycncguy7500 Hey mate. From Australia so along way away. I had to type the tool name into the code manually in editor, so not sure what I was doing wrong in aspire itself. Now I have another error code "220. Speed or acceleration nil". So I'm assuming I have to change the code somewhere to set the speed or acceleration. No idea how though. Any tips?

Hello Yitzchok! This is likely a faulty or loose sensor in the table base. Remove the lower green plastic covers to the table. Clean out all the dust that might have fallen in and is covering the group of solenoids. Then look to the right of the solenoids (where all the air hoses are coming together) there should be a black rubber cover with two wires coming out. It covers a sensor at the bottom near the front. Pull the black rubber cover off the sensor and push the wires onto the sensor. Even if they are making contact, sometimes they need to be wiggled. Try to run the program again. There is a sensor just like this at the RH side of the table, too. They are glitchy and I have had to mess with them for years. Good Luck and let me know if this worked!!!
@yitzchokhonig28272 жыл бұрын
@@thecrazycncguy7500 Juat thought you should know that there is a small screw between the two wires that connect on the top of the sensor if you loosen it it lowers the amount of vacuume that triggers the sensor

Thank you for the great video. I have a couple of questions. Did your machine come with a computer and windows XP on it? Or did you modify and add the pc part to it. I have one that looks like DOS, and was wondering if I can add Windows to it, or upload a different UI?
@thecrazycncguy7500 Жыл бұрын
Hi EdRusi! The computer came with the machine and it already had Win XP installed. What NC software version are you on? What machine are you running? Is a Rover 24 like the one in the videos? I know Biesse sells a new computer but they run XP on a virtual box because the software that is needed to run the machines is so old. I am running NC1000. I don't know what NC500 looks like but I know it exists. Let me know and thanks for checking in!

Hello to all nice CNC people. I have question regarding Biesse Rover 24 s. My friend recently baught one (used). The question is, what are system requirrments for PC/computer to run this CNC? Someone told that Intel 'Intel® Q35 Express Chipset' is mandatory, but I do not really believe that. Will Biesse Rover 24 s work on windows 10 and any up to date chipset, Intel or AMD? Or there actually are some special requirements? Thank you!

Biesse America said that they have an upgraded computer system. They sent me a quote for it and it is a new computer running the software in a virtual box running XP. If you have the Serial number for the machine you should be able to call your Biesse customer support and get an upgrade that will work well with your existing machine. I hope this helps!!!

@thecrazycncguy75007 жыл бұрын
Hi Arlind! Unfortunately each machine that I've ever worked on has such a different setup that I would not want to share actual code produced for a different machine - even if it is the exact same model. I am planning on making a video on showing how to make code but you will have to have your biesse tools and post processor programs defined before you can make code for your machine. Did your machine come with any software to make shapes / parts? AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, Fusion 360, Rhino 5, BiesseWorks? Any of those?
@thecrazycncguy75007 жыл бұрын
What software came with the machine?
@ArlindKaraj7 жыл бұрын
The Crazy CNC Guy yeah it came with biesse works and some kind of autocad but modified for biesse and it misses a lot of tools of autocad, i wanted to see if i could find a simple way to make different forms for creating the program
@ArlindKaraj7 жыл бұрын
you see the only problem here is the shapes,with biesse program i can create simple shapes but not the complicated ones..
@thecrazycncguy75007 жыл бұрын
Hi Arlind - So most people generate the shapes in autocad (try FreeCAD if you don't have AutoCAD - download freeCAD and draw your parts and be sure to draw a 96" x 48" sheet with the bottom left corner at X0,Y0) Then save your cad drawing - DXF or whatever and import it into BiesseWorks. I don't have BiesseWorks but it sounds like you can produce tool paths with it. I found this on line...I hope it helps "We imported the DXF files into Biesseworks using the manual import function, and then assigned router functions to the geometry on each DXF layer. The buttons to use are on the bottom of the Biesseworks screen. You can route, drill, pocket. You can also set the tool path to the left, right or center of the line, set tool depth, speed, feed rate, etc. Material is set up on the first box on the left side toolbar. After you finish toolpathing, click the magic wand tool to optimize, and then run a simulation. You can also send the optimized toolpath to your machine with a button on the left side. If you have difficultites with optimization its typically an error with a tool path or a problem with the DXF file geometry. Often if I was not able to mill a pocket due to geometry errors, I chose route instead, and used an offset to mill the pocket. Either that or I fixed the file in Autocad. When you import, if the imported geometry doesnt fit your material, you can either redraw the DXF file in ACad to have a 0.0 origin, or right click in the import side of the screen, and select move, center horizontal or vertical to get the geometry positioned on the material. When you import from Acad, you need to be sure to convert drawings to polylines. If you don't, Biesse will create a separate line segment out of each Acad line segment, causing the router to lift and replunge at each segment start instead of running a continuous tool path. Also, if areas to be pockets are not closed geometry, Biesseworks will give you an error message if you try to optimize a pocketing toolpath. Biesseworks has a great functionality in that you can turn on and off each individual milling operation by selecting/deselecting the tool path in the list on the left. For example if you need to drill holes on some units, but not others, you can simply click off the holes you don't want to drill. Similarly, its very easy to restart a file where you left off by simply unchecking the tool path for each item that has already been cut. Most programs, like Artcam, would require you to either edit the Gcode or rewrite the program to accomplish this. Its a good program, but has a big weakness in the CAD department- its NOT a CAD program really. But it does provide good control over the Biesse rover."
