Cities Skylines Industries:
In one of the most in-depth expansions in Cities: Skylines history, Industry becomes a larger and more meaningful part of the game with this expansion. Players can customize their industrial areas with supply chains for the four different resource types and unique factories. Well managed industry areas will level up and become more efficient. Aside from production chains, there is a new city service for handling mail and the cargo airport eases import and export of factory goods. There are FIVE new maps, new policies, new city services, new buildings (including resource extractors, manufacturers, warehouses and unique factories) and more.
Key Features:
MAKE IT HAPPEN
Follow your products from harvesting to processing, storage and production, then transport them to commercial zones or export to other cities.
CAPTAIN YOUR OWN INDUSTRIES
Define an area with the industry area tool and place highly specialized industrial buildings to build and manage the production chain from raw material extraction up to final end product. Industry Areas are divided into four types based on the natural resource they are processing: Farming, Forest, Ore and Oil. These areas can level up upon reaching productions goals and staffing requirements.
BUILD IT UP, BUTTERCUP
New industrial buildings include Extractors, Warehouse Facilities, Processing and Auxiliary Buildings, Industrial Props and Roads. Unique Factories, such as Food, Toy, Furniture, Car and Electronics produce luxury products, and require a large number of workers, water and electricity as well as input from your industries.
SHIP IT
Manage traffic and logistics with industrial warehouses and the use of the new Cargo Services including a cargo airport.
GO POSTAL
Boost your citizens’ well-being with mail delivery and collection services. Post sorting facilities handle mail between outside connections and the post offices, and new Post Van and Truck vehicles enable the carriage.
WONK HARD
Three new Industry Policies and four City-wide Policies, including Workers’ Union, Sorting, Tolls, Wi-Fi, Logistics, Work Safety and Automation.

He needs to change almost all the 6 lane one way roads to 4 lane 2 way and ha,f the roundabouts aren’t needed. Most European cities have junctions that are relatively close, but they still have smooth traffic. Here’s how: 1. Roundabouts: They help smooth traffic 2. Pedestrian roads(e.g promenades) and paths: Most cities have pedestrian dedicated roads(yes, the zonable ones you get from Network Extensions) and paths providing short routes to commercial/office zones. 3. Public Transportation: Public transportation is virtually everywhere in most cities in Europe. Whether it’s buses, metro, tram or commuter rail (trains in Cities: Skylines), there’s always at least one mode of public transportation Limited Parking Spaces: This forces most citizens to rely on public transportation instead of cars, improving traffic flow. However, this is a very brilliant fix, especially for American cities (they depend on private cars). If you’re working on a European city though, you’ll need to take public transportation as a big part of your traffic fix since European cities depend on public transportation instead of private cars.

I've heard that tolls make only traffic that needs to enter the city go through the city roads, as without them, traffic that just wants to pass through the map may go through the city as a "shortcut" however only makes city traffic worse. Toll booths filter this traffic.
@SIG442
@SIG442 5 жыл бұрын
The huge toll roads are rather too much for the game AI, they won't really use the full size anyways so it's always better to use the toll roads with the same lane count as the road you putting it on. Also making sure the automatic toll roads thing will help out a lot to speed things up a bit. The ideal location I use is where the highways come in to your city meaning the very outer limits. This keeps the traffic to a minimum but the downside is that you need to make sure electricity and water is available which may cost you a lot to even add it in.

Hey biffa, One thing I would really like you to teach. In addition to the usuall lane mathematics and roundabout managemen, their is the important notion of lane Hierarchy. You want one main streat to run straight through the districts, with a limitied number of collecting roads connected to it, in order to limit congestion. And to these collecting roads you can have local streats spreading around, but not directly connected to the main artherials. That kind of design allows to build districts not fully made of super big streets (one 6 lane artherial connected to the highway, with a few 4 lanes collecting roads attached to it, and then you can spread the local 2 lane streats).

"Lane mathematics" Stuff we actually see in many highway systems, considering these sort of thing is very similar to IRL system in the UK, so you just need to drive around the country to see it. Also, Euro Truck Simulator 2 seems to be somewhat realistic besides the distance/time compression to experience the roads in Europe. So you can "experience" in a fun way (better then Google Street View voyeuring).

Biffa... great video as always! At 4:20, you add a side street by a train station to create a crosswalk. Why not just swap one small section of the existing roadway for one, say, with grass instead of trees. That would do the trick and allow you to place the walk directly in front of the station or the path coming from the Metro. 😊

Always enjoy watching your city fix videos... and that you have went to more than just adding those dang ugly circles, that take up so much room... yea I dislike roundabouts, IRL and in game. Watching you add unneeded roundabouts, when traffic just wants to make a simple turn, always inspires me to come up with other solutions. Traffic management is not just about flow, which in a 20,000 city is quite easy to get to 90%...It is about getting people to their destination. I used to be lazy with metro, and just build the metro loops, like you did in this video. I have found with experimentation in the same city, that the hub and spoke method moves more cims, and reduces surface traffic better.

Keep saying anti-clockwise, fella! Counter-clockwise is just an Americanism and the people trying to correct you just have no idea how the English language works. Might be nice to remind them the language is called 'English', not 'American', and a quick Google search will show them that anti-clockwise is a perfectly acceptable term. Keep up the great work!

Hello Biffa, watching till some time your "Fixing your City in Cities:Skyline". One friend of me, buyed the game, because he watched with me some videos of you. He build a city, got the traffic to roundabout 40% and i helped him, with the fixes you do every time and got his traffic back to 95%. And it was a huge fun, to do that, fixing a city. I'm a bit jealous of you, doing that now and then :) Hope you make some more of these videos, because it's relaxing to view these videos and so much to learn.

Love Cities Skylines! Played it before, so amazing and fun! After playing the simple Simcity Buildit, where everything is automated for you, I feel like it'll be difficult for me to handle the stress of traffic management again (including transporting dead people) lol. When want to get technical and really be like a city builder, play Cities Skylines. When dont want to think much and just collect stuffs, play Simcity Buildit.

What I find interesting about setting up metros in Cities Skylines is that actual metro lines (from my experience) don't run in loops. For example, if you look at the NYC subway map you can see that all of the lines run "point-to-point", not in loops. The same thing is true of another light rail system in the NY-NJ area called PATH. Which runs from NJ across the river into lower and midtown Manhattan. When I've set up metros in C:S, I've done mine that way. Now perhaps that's why my traffic is only at 67% efficiency but it seems more realistic to do it that way.
