God bless you Fitz! I couldn't agree with you more! This is a huge unforced error by the Big XII. K-State vs. Iowa State has been a staple for years as you mentioned. If it wasn't why would the Aer Lingus folks want Farmaggeon in Dublin? With you, I implore Brett Yormark to save this rivalry game for the ages. The two fan bases deserve it!

As a Cyclone, I couldn’t agree more. Preserve nostalgic conference opponents and rivalries. That’s what keeps the allure of college football fandom alive.

Short term solution: both play each other in the Big 12 title game until the higher ups come to their senses.

Keep Farmegeddon, the name is just getting notoriety. Even football fans that typically don't watch big 12 football are starting to know the game. In fact NOT only should we keep the game but it should always be played on Thanksgiving Day! can you imagine linking the game with farming and thanksgiving. Great opportunity for the Big 12 to put a fun game on the map every year without any other college games.

We could always schedule it as a non con game!

I remember hearing something about Jamie Pollard not wanting to play it every year. That guy is 100% focused on himself and what’s best for him.

Maybe play this game in the non-conference game in 2027?!?

It should be called The Big Mess not the Big 12. It’s absolutely insane. The Big 8 should have grabbed Arkansas before the SEC did. It should look more like: K-State, KU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Arkansas, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, Mizzou, Iowa St, Texas A&M, TCU and or Texas Tech. Having West Va. and BYU geographically in the same conference is insane!

This is college athletics in the modern era. Regionalism is gone. The Big Ten and ACC literally stretch from the East Coast to the West Coast (the ACC also goes from Boston to Miami). The Big 12 stretches almost as far. The SEC goes from Oklahoma to the East Coast. Our best hope is to divide the large number of schools into geographic divisions or pods.

Little brother, I agree with you 100% on this one. Can you call your cousin Brett Yormark and get this resolved?

These supposed experts are ruining college football. It’s maddening!

The chaos or potential chaos around tie breakers for the Big 12 and other conferences this year makes it clear that we should either go back to divisions or pods. Divisions would work better than before as now they are big enough to be more balanced for almost every conference. But at least poss would maintain rivalries, reduce travel and provide logic to scheduling. For basketball, I think that pods may work better than divisions But either way, help maintain or build rivalries that make sense. I'm tired of losing games for K-State that I care about and even though it may not be a blue blood like Nebraska or OU, losing Farmageddon may hurt the most because it is totally self-inflicted.

Need a four-team conference playoff

@stinger0772 that could be a fun way to do it

Get rid of conferences. Provide more motivation to play top tier teams but give more opportunity to middle tier teams by allowing schools to pick their own schedules outside of conferences. If it was up to K-State and Iowa State, they would both choose to play each other every year.

Hello from Jack Trice Stadium, in the last two minutes of the first half. Shoot, I think Avery Johnson’s gonna enter the transfer portal with offensive coordinator in play calling like this!

K-State and Iowa State should play each other in all sports every year, no exceptions! Feed the rivalry! I fully agree that every Big 12 team should have at least 2 teams they play every year, and K-State should play KU and Iowa State. If 2027 is not guaranteed to have them play, then they should both make sure they have Farmageddon in Arlington.

Maybe the Big XII needs some grandmothers on their scheduling committee.😅 We know how things should be.😅

College football conferences are at the size where a four-team conference playoff is necessary. Too many imbalanced schedules to fairly determine the top 2 teams.
@walterschoenefeld76292 ай бұрын
There is a simple solution to this mess: have a north division of 8 teams and a south division of 8. The winners of each division play each other for the championship. They had this kind of set up years ago when there were 6 in the north and 6 in the south
@brandenolberding18972 ай бұрын
Needs to be pods. 4 pods of 4 teams.. 3 annual games within your pod. KSU, IS, OS, KU in a pod.. Rotate with the other 3 pods.. You’re playing every team within the league every other year.. League expands to 20. 4 pods of 5..

So how do we make a BIG enough ruckus so that they hear what the fans are saying?
@Crypt0rkid2 ай бұрын
It’s as important as BYU VS Utah or asu vs Arizona

How can we, as fans, truly voice our opinion on this matter in a way that might be heard by those that make these decisions? Tweeting at Brett Yormark every single day likely won’t work.
