What about the engines of Tejas ? IAF should go for 9 squadrons of Su-57 until AMCA gets inducted. Tejas should fly on Kaveri 2 engines. There is no surety GE will start delivering or complete the order. There is also a concern of remote kill switch being used in US engines as being mentioned in certain scarce articles on internet which can put IAF in dire straits during operations in the form of backdoor trojans in the engines design.

Bro 9 squadrons is too much. It will be very costly and important thing is even if we put orders today, you will not get the first aircraft anytime before 2029-30

@@i_am_sagaraiwale look, 9 squadrons means 162 fighter jets. India will ask for local manufacturing from raw materials to manufacture this many fighter jets. Russia being involved in war can even accept fighter jets manufactured in India to bolster her own stealth fighter jet fleet. With 9 squadrons of Su-57 IAF may be able to deploy 3,3,3 squadrons on each front from east to west or 2,2,1,2,2 all around Indian mainland. Preferably there should be 15 squadrons of Su-57 or stealth fighter jets. About cost , Su-57 to acquire with weapons customization will be much lesser than F-35 or may be even cheaper than AMCA as AMCA may have some 6th generation technologies. Local maintenance is the key to operate the fleet in maximum readiness. IAF will be lagging behind to maintain proper potency if it fails to maintain stealth fighter jet fleet in substantial numbers and Su-57 is the fighter jet that can be acquired relatively quickly and easily without much complications.
