Nice job man, just be careful with the frame and power wire run it can ground out easier than you think, at least put some split loom around it to help it protect the wires. But clean install.

Looks nice, I would be a little concerned about the hole going into the cab. You never know what kind of vibration that particular spot will have. I would at least put some loom over it or some putty to keep the wire from vibrating against raw metal...especially if you cut a larger hole. Just saying. Remember when I accidentally grounded out my power wire? $1500 oops.

My 06 Taurus had a fuse between alternator and battery at fuse box. Not sure about Jeep, ill check tomorrow and reply back. If your engine mounts are in good shape and you leave a few inches of slack it should be fine. If your mounts are bad your engine will move more.

Do I need to run 2 runs on the big 3 if I do 2 runs for my amp?

Wire can handle more amps on a shorter run. So depending on amp draw possibly not. I added 2 runs from alt to keep it looking even with the 2 going to the back. I also wanted the most flow I could get with the amount of wire I had.

I got three power and three grounds on the alternator. 2 power to the back lithium-ion batterys and one to the front. Then 2 grounds to the back battery and 1 to front battery makes a huge difference my car sits at 14.5 idle and when the bass is slamming never drops lower then 14.2. So yes all this is really good to do and makes a huge difference in my case. :)

2 grounds that close together is redundant right?
@clippingcoils82153 жыл бұрын
Apologies for the late reply. It all seems redundant at first. Grounds on top of grounds. I don't have any real world testing to back it up. Everyone says to have equal grounds to power wires. 1 power wire 1 ground. 2 power wires should have 2 grounds and so on.
@beckyschwantes52873 жыл бұрын
@@clippingcoils8215 that is a principal to follow when grounding. I work on cnc machines and we field ground with a ground rod. And then all of the grounds originate on a brass Barr about a foot long that is connected to the rod with a strap. They always taught us to always run ground circuits in parallel from that bar. So one point that will show the least resistance when measured and go from there. Try not to jump around in series.

hey bud you do not have to take the paint off for your grounds all's you got to do is make sure the threads inside where the bolt goes or not painted and are clean. what you can do by simply inserting the bolt extracting it inserting it extracting it through the hole you're using for the ground a bunch of times and I don't take everything out and clean the hole out. You don't have to mess up the paint ever for a ground just the hole where the bolt goes. Just an FYI... Great job though always love your attention to DETAIL 👍

Think of it as drink a thick milk shake through a coffee straw vs a huge straw. The more gage wires, the more easier power will run. Does the help?

Most likely yes. Depends on how big your amp and subs you’re pushing. Keep in mind, you can only pump as much power as the salt will provide. So if your alternator is maxed it won’t matter how many wires you have.

For ease of installation. I didn't want to route them across engine as I think this looks cleaner. Fusing is all debatable and generally comes down to preference from one individual to the next, in my opinion. I however prefer the, better safe than sorry approach.
