Great video. I am upgrading my gear also. I'm leaning toward this tent. Will cut about 1.5 lbs from my Big Agnes Fairview 2. Go Tyvek for the ground. We also spend a lot of time in the Blue Hills!!

its a pretty cool setup. On a recent trip I used it on a platform and didnt put the rainfly on. Got some unexpected rain over night which wasnt fun trying to pop the rain fly on at 2am with another tent on the same platform. Needless to say I half assed it and got a little wet over night. Not too bad tho. Its a pretty good tent. Cant really fault it for my laziness haha. Tight for two but great if you are solo. I just picked up a tarp tent too from six moon designs. I will probably make the video available today or tomorrow. I really like the tarp setup. A little tricky on the first set ups and maybe a little iffy on the plethora of Northeast wooded tent platforms but it weighs a little over a pound and uses a trekking pole for setup. Decisions decisions!

+ChrisGoesOutdoors ya, I'm looking at Six Moon too. It's me and my 80lb Lab so I need a little space.

the Big agnes I would say would definitely work for you. The Six Moons one i picked up was a Deschutues plus tarp. Tarp on top, bug netting on bottom, floorless. Company I bought it from included stakes and a tyvek ground sheet. I really like the set up.

Hey Chris, what sleeping pad is that? I have a Nemo sleeping pad but find that my arms touch the ground and looking for something a little wider.

Hey there. Curious if you've used it in the rain yet and how it went if so? Cheers

+I “Ish” Monique I have indeed used it in the rain. It worked great...mostly. Unfortunately a lot of the camp sites where I hike are on wooded tent platforms. I got lazy and did not stake out the rain fly properly. One of the stakes became loose overnight and needless to say I was met with a nice puddle at the bottom of my sleeping bag. 100% my fault though. There was no other rain seepage otherwise! When setup properly I do not believe you would have any issue with rain.

How hard is it for one person to set it up?

Hi David, not difficult at all actually. I've set it up solo a few times now. The front pole part was tricky the first time (mainly because of how I was doing it haha) But then a breeze the next. Highly doubt you would have an issue setting it up solo.

It comes with 8 stakes. Do I need to bring all of them?

I believe 6 were needed for the setup and the extra two were for optional guylines to help give some more room and better hold to the ground

How can you give a proper review of “something” when you have never even used it?
@ChrisGoesOutdoors

You can't. Which is why I didn't call this video or any of the setup videos I do a review. I call them set up / initial impressions. As far as an actual review for this tent - I would avoid it. This was the first actual backpacking tent I bought and one of the first videos I made over 3 years ago. I wish I had recorded a follow up video for this but I returned it after about 3 uses. It is marketed as free standing when in actuality it is semi free standing. In order to get full space and to properly attach the rain fly you NEED to stake out the ends of the tent. I also was not in love with the front entry especially where I was using the tent at the time with my GF . It was quiet cozy for two and if one of us had to get out it was difficult to do so without disturbing the other. We ended up getting the Copper Spur UL2 and using that for a bit as that had two entries, and was actually free standing. The Fly Creek will work for some, especially if just a solo backpacker, but I think the Copper Spur is hands down a better tent even if a couple ounces more.
