Great review! Since you're giving a score to each kite anyways you could also put them in a list and rank all of the kites you have ever tested based on their total scores. And with every review the list gets another entry. Kinda how Doug Demuro does it with testing and rating cars. That way we might get a better idea how the kite performs in comparison to all the other kites :)

A little food for thought for those of us not at Jason's level. If you're in the market for a progression kite you may want to buy the Orbit over the Nitro. The Orbit has the most perfect and direct feeling on the bar and I always know where the kite is. In contrast, on the Nitro I find the bar pressure too light, especially during the catch after a loop. I often find myself looking up at the kite to time downloops and know it's positioning compared to the orbit where it's all feel and i don't need to look at the kite at all. For someone like myself who's just getting back into loops after a solid decade away from the sport it's a major difference for my progression. On the other hand, once you have the timing and muscle memory dialed in for your tricks I imagine the nitro to be a sweet ride.
@jasonofmontreal7 ай бұрын
What models/years of each kite are talking about? It’s confusing that such a small difference in bar pressure between kites is so noticeable that you might lose track of one kite so much more than the other…
@pattyj8867 ай бұрын
@jasonofmontreal Yeah it's weird, most people say they're so similar, but I personally can't get over the bar feel on the Nitro. I'm comparing the 2023 9m models flown on the north bar for both kites. I've been switching back and forth between them a lot, hoping the Nitro will click, but I really dislike the weightless feeling on the bar after the loop when it's climbing for the catch or when I'm inverted in general. Could just be me 🤷
@jasonofmontreal7 ай бұрын
@@pattyj886I mentioned in the '23 models comparison that I found the nitro more firsky and less stable than the orbit, but as per that review I preferred its speed under 30 knots. The newer model is a lot better balanced. You might prefer the 2024 orbit of them all, its a bit slower than the 23's

Really loving your reviews. Could you maybe, if you find the time, make a video regarding jumping heights and loops sizes. In detail about what indicators you are using while being pulled up to get a good radius in your loop so that the following heliloop will not leave you hanging a couple of meters above the water or drop you unsafe. I personally feel unsure on when to size up my loop radius and end up in situations that after the heliloop I´m still hanging way above the water. Too low for another heliloop and thus losing my stability and crash/buttcheck.
@jasonofmontreal7 ай бұрын
I think understand what you are saying… Try sending the kite off to side as it ascends after the loop so that you get a bit more lift on you first heli loop. This we’ll also slow you down. If after the first heli loop you are still in the sure, sheet out for a moment to make sure the kite is up above you, and pull down the bar, likely into a down loop in the direction you are going

Apparently I heard the majority of 2023 Cabrinha kites came back with valve issues . What are your experiences with this in 2024? Do you know if this improved? I’ve only ever ridden them twice, and they are certainly easier for loop progression then the XR’s, but I still found them kind of heavy on the bar for a 3 strut.
