The Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg opened on June 15, 1984 and closed on September 7th, 2009, thrilling riders for 25 years.

Man I miss this coaster so much. So many memories. Another nostalgic moment for me is hearing the narrator's voice at 0:08. he used to be the narrator for a lot of things at BGW. I miss hearing that.

I grew up riding Big Bad Wolf's sister coaster, Ninja, at Magic Mountain. A coaster I enjoyed quite a bit. Then I had the opportunity to ride Big Bad Wolf before it closed. An incredibly designed coaster but it was a bit too much for me. I loved how it was built on the terrain. That big drop by the lake/river was intense!!

If big bad wolf was too much for you then you are a lightweight. I grew up riding it and have definitely ridden scarier coasters. Try X2 at magic mountain.

I grew up riding Big Bad Wolf and it never bothered me. As a kid, I could ride even the roughest of coasters and be ready to get straight back on. Now? This would probably snap my neck in two. 😂😂 I'm so glad BGW is bringing back the Big Bad Wolf. Nothing can replace the original, but it'll be so fun to be able to reminisce on an all new version.

This ride premiered the same summer I worked for Busch Gardens. They also premiered a nomacholic bee called Abdul’s I think. 😝 wow time flies..

As i always seen this ride on roller coaster shows on tv! As I'm from Houston where we had astroworld that I'm still mad of! I always wonder if astroworld stayed open never closed would xlr8 probably stayed or got removed?

For those who havent already heard, BG's recently announced that they are bringing this ride back. They decided to take it out of storage and dust it off. "Return of Wolf" it will return with new elements

The worst move in BGW history was removing the Big Bad Wolf. They could’ve gotten S&S to make more parts and retrack it as they use it all on their modern family suspended coaster.

I really shing bush gardens realized the huge mistake they made removing a park staple like the wolf. That's why they restored lochness. Honestly this coaster was much more fun, s&s still makes parts for them so it's not like they are hard to get parts for. This really was a dumb move but at least they kept nessie. Six flags and cedar fair have no respect for their old arrow coasters. I doubt they will ever retrack a single one. It's sad because iconic rides like magnum, Gemini, viper, deserve to be restored. Sadly coaster enthusists don't give a sht about historic coasters. They only care about credits. Ace is such a disgrace, they should be raising money to save leap the dips instead they are going on stupid trips to guve out plaques that don't mean a hill of sht if the ride gets torn down.

Loch ness has an official designation as a historical coaster, wolf didn't, wolf also had practically zero riders. We got something better.

Big Bad Wolf was a much better coaster than Verbolten. The drop over the lake on the suspended coaster ( with that sharp turn around the treeline and the snap of the cars just over the lake) was more exciting and iconic. Now its almost a kiddie coaster drop with a fast lift hill. I have read BG found it too expensive to repair it - the manufacturer Arrow had gone out of business in 2002; suspended coasters required significant maintenance to both the track and trains.. and parts were hard to get. And Anheuser Busch was selling the park and didn't want the new owners to be the ' bad guys' for closing it
