Big Bad Wolf Reborn at Busch Gardens Williamsburg? More Rumors and Speculation!

We've spoken before about the rumors and leaked site plans pointing to a new roller coaster coming to Busch Gardens in the long dormant area where Drachen Fire once stood. Could the nostalgia of Busch Gardens’ 50th anniversary see the return of a beloved old coaster, the Big Bad Wolf, in an all new form? Some new footage of PHOENIX RISING out of Busch Gardens Tampa got us thinking.....come speculate with us!

It would be so great if they brought that back. Loch Ness and Big Bad Wolf were my favorites. Enough intensity to be a super fun ride without puking your guts out. We need more of that level of coasters in all parks. Hagrid’s in US Orlando is like that. Great thrill and fun ride, but not so intense that it messes you up for the rest of the day. My grandmother rode BBW in her late 70’s. She was adventurous, but still. Lots of age groups can do that kind of coaster.

That would be huge. One of the most beloved coasters of all time. So many people loved that coaster and there were many summers of memories with that coaster and Loch Ness. Many family memories. Busch Gardens has the opportunity to do something huge here and give back to the fans of the park.

Trying to replace the big bad wolf as a family coaster would be a huge mistake. This has to be as thrilling as the original big bad wolf otherwise expect major disappointment among the fans.

Agree, Arrow was bought out by S &S, and Busch said "we could not get parts for wolf, it costs too much". When they acquired arrow like when Intamin got all of Antons stuff, they got the templates, the molds, blueprints, everything. This would have to swing like it did, and the technology is there. Do it right. Nothing against B&M they ride like glass and I worked Mantis at CP, but ya need that swing in those cars.

Wolf was thrilling but still family friendly with a height requirement of 42". A thrilling but family friendly attraction would fit right in

The only arrow suspended coaster I have ridden is Vampire at Chessington. BBW seemed like a better and more intense ride and it would be cool for them to bring it back in some form.

I have never been able to ride BBW since my first time at Busch Gardens was in 2018, but I've wanted to after hearing about it from other people who were there while it was operating. Even if it is just a rumor, it would be awesome for them to make something similar.

I've heard this rumor for a while, and something tells me this is most likely going to happen. However, after thinking about it, wouldn't it make sense that if they're building a new coaster in the old Drachen Fire area (behind Verbolten), shouldn't it be a big ride that rises above the trees to let everyone know there's a coaster back there? Personally, I wish they'd bring a massive RMC (like Iron Gwazi) to this spot.

I think it may be Big Bad Wolf theming I feel like for BGW 50th anniversary they would bring back the wolf not the original obviously but I can see something like what there doing with like phenoix at BGT feel like we can see EXACTLY same replica of the ride with a return of the big bad Wolf for the nostalgic of BGW past👌😉

Honestly I could see this happening (the B&M family invert) coming but the location won’t be the best location for it but I was told (a rumor) that phoenix rising is getting the swinging inverted trains (like big bad wolf just modern)

Yeah I know Busch Gardens likes to put first releases in their Tampa Park and then they copy them and put them in Williamsburg. I didn't even think about them constructing the same roller coaster there and having them bring back the big bad wolf again 🐺❤

Honestly l think it would've been better back in the day that they let sleeping dog's lie and not even put in Verbolten at ALL. They should've tried to save BBW LIKE they did recently with LNM. Verboten should've been bused over to the Drachen Fire site. Problem solved. I don't care about the scarcity issues of parts, it could've been done.

I agree, the Big Bad Wolf name fit so well in the theme, they could have definitely redone it.
