Haha thanks man!! Rosie is tough this time of year. I mainly only fish it in spring when water is coming in on the salt end. I’ve never caught any big ones outside of that time frame. I appreciate it man!

Wow I've never in my life seen anybody use live carp as bait for flatheads that is a huge bait little over board in my opinion but u make it work it seems nice video brother

I’m curious on your rig with the float obviously it’s effective just wondering why you rig that particular way ?
@TDFishing3 жыл бұрын
The main benefit to this rig is keeping your bait off the bottom but still in the same relative spot because of the heavy led. The bobber keeps the bait off the bottom as well as makes the bait constantly try to swim down/around for cover which brings more attention. I will use anywhere from 6-10oz of lead depending on the size of the bait. I also use a bobber stop a few feet above the swivel so the bait can’t wrap around it.
@charleslockler94573 жыл бұрын
@@TDFishing makes total sense keep the bait in the strike zone and out of cover. On large baits like the ones you used do you always use a double hook rig ?
@TDFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@charleslockler9457 Definitely! The last thing you want is your bait tucked away under a rock and not moving. Pretty much anything 1lb or so and under I use a single hook rig. I like 2 hook rigs on bigger bait in case a smaller Flathead only bites the tail or head
@Rodelas252 жыл бұрын
Hey man I thought the video was awesome!! I wanted to ask what rig are you using for carp ?
@TDFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I just do a normal 3-way rig. I use a small egg sinker on the main line to a 3-way swivel. Then 2 size 8 hooks at different lengths so they don’t tangle.

@jayrev53962 жыл бұрын
Is that the only way u fish for them? I hope not lol. Dude all u need is creek chubs about 5 to maybe 8 inches long lol. I catch big flats. But bigger the bait the longer the wait lol. U can catch huge ones without using huge bait.
@TDFishing2 жыл бұрын
We don’t have creek chubs here in AZ. Pretty much only bluegill/sunfish and carp. This was during winter so the bluegill were much harder to get.

What’s with the bobber why not just drop the bait on the bottom my friend
@TDFishing4 ай бұрын
Great question! I recently made a video going over exactly this rig haha basically this rig is a way to keep your bait off the bottom. When you fish a bait on the bottom, they like to hide in rocks, bushes, or anything else they can. The bobber rig keeps your bait near the bottom because of a heavy led but not actually on the bottom. Keeps your bait visible for predators and the bait constantly wants to swim to cover but can’t.
