One of the greatest live performances ever recorded. A masterpiece from a master.

A laid back smoke filled bar, low lights, your girl by your side and Bill on stage ten feet away. I wish i could have been there, the 50's blues and jazz scene seemed so dark, lonely and strangely comforting.

Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. He loves you man, turn to Him and seek His face. He’ll save your soul brother. If you hold any doubt, pray on your knees and ask God. He’ll show you His truth. May The Lord bless you and deal with you. Much love brother. 🤙🏼 God bless.

All this from his old guitar snd a ropey amp through a ropey mic and it still sounds better than any modern day guitar player. Bill had talent that was supreme- and in abundance.

Not only a great guitar player and voice but he must've been quite the scoundrel in his youth with his songs about night time gambling, drinking and hooking up... all without a single dime in his pocket.. What a man.

Big Bill is the best! I've been listening to him since the late 1960's and his playing still makes the hairs on my kneck stand up!! He was the master of that country blues picking.

Slides, hammer ons and pull offs. Nothing fancy, it is 98% the right hand.
the music is great, it's just a shame that the director doesn't like music, but likes to present himself as an artistically responsible filmmaker,

Maybe an audio clean-up is in order, that sound is ropey and lets the masterful playing down heavily, and this is coming from someone who listens to early Jamaican ska a lot....

Okay so I'm not a musician. But do have great taste, somehow. 🤣. Have always LOVED BILL'S playing. But who can tell me WHY none of his music sounds the least bit dated to me? I've often been perplexed by that. 🪄
@JoostDamenMusic2 жыл бұрын
He had a really unique style when it comes to songs like the above. Like, it fills a room, no other instruments required. It does what rock 'n roll did later (and it does it better in my opinion.)
