This is my 1st product review featuring the Big Blue Motorcycle Lift. In this video I review the basic assembly of the lift and give my first impressions of the motorcycle lift. This product has had a lot of scams. I thought I would share my personal experience of the Big Blue Motorcycle Lift.

I bought a Big Blue lift a couple of years ago for my 2018 Tour 6MT. Goes together and works just like this video shows. I also use a older and cheaper Dewalt cordless drill to operate it that stays with the lift ready to go when I need it. I bought mine from the North American Distro in Canada and it shipped to me in the USA from Canada. Called Donald at the number on the Canadian website and did the deal. Was a good guy to work with and liked to laugh. Got it shipped out the next day. I think it's better than other lifts out there and it does raise the bike as high as demonstrated. There is some sway when the bikes up high but manageable. If you have never worked with jack, lifts and lift tables with motorcycles it can be a eyes big moment for most. I recently had mine on the lift for just about two weeks while I did some maint. Oil/filter change, crappy Wing air filter change, adjusted the reverse cables, flushed/bled the brakes and clutch, reran the wires for my Twinart marker/signal lights, installed a set of Clearwater Erica driving lights under mirror mount, did a coolant change, cleaned and lubed the clutch, brake, shift and rear brake levers and cleaned her up under her plastic origami. Bike went up and down as I needed and stayed on the lift as it should. I've used it to pull wheels. I do all my on tire work. And use it sometimes for cleaning the bike. It's not a replacement for a lift table, but a useable tool.

One more question for you, do you use any straps while its up? I don't see any straps loops or anything like that. It must be shaky when you want to remove like a rear tire.

Yes, I will use straps when I plan to do any real work other than cleaning. The lift is much stronger than it looks. However, I would use straps.

Great video. This helped me to decide to purchase the Big Blue with the Goldwing attachment for my 2003 GW. I bought it in Canada from the Big Blue Dealer, Donald, in Ontario. Great service. From Ontario to British Columbia it was $1412 including taxes and delivery. It should be shipping out today, 2024-08-29. Looking forward to using this.

Thanks for the video..a couple questions to you, as my early adopter…. 1) Does manufacturer recommend lifting to fullest position, or can you lift it multiple heights to work on… 2) since draining oil is recommended on side stand, what are your thoughts of having it parallel to the ground on the stand? 3 have you noticed any fatigue in the welds? Does the screw get hot if over worked? Thanks
@GoldRyderOne

The 4oz you get from the sidestand is minimal. You can lower the bike back down to get those 4oz if you want. Lift to max high is the way you can lock the bike and lift in position. I have lifted my bike 4 or 5 times in less than 15 minutes without any issues. I am not affiliated with the company in any way. I just shared my personal experience with the lift. I never actually endorse products on my channel. This was just me showing my bike lift. Thank you for watching and responding.

@@GoldRyderOne I was looking at getting a lift but I’m really running out of space in my garage. I purchased my DCT Tour new in July 2023 and I believe I’ve completed adding the optional equipment I want. Now it’s just required maintenance items, so the Big Blue Jack should handle this. My concern is can you lift the bike with the Traxxion Dynamics engine guard installed. I’ll probably reach out to Max and get his input. All the Best, James. PS: What video editing software are you using and is this on Microsoft or Mac machines?

I agree that this is a very well made lift, everything is 1st class. If the cotter pin that holds the main lift mechanism in place is any indication this lift can be passed on to several generations after I'm gone. I needed 2 pairs of vice grips to bend the pin, I've never seen a heavier duty cotter pin.
@GoldRyderOne
@GoldRyderOne 4 ай бұрын
Yes, the bottom cotter pin was very hard to bend. I know this lift will out-live me and my Gold Wing. Plus, it has a lifetime warranty. Not sure which lifetime they are referring to... Me, my kids, grandkids or their kids.

Well done video. You may mention cost, and delivery time. I have not researched this but is it made in UK, or USA? I appreciate the facts given that it is not a scam. Not much work needed on these new Wings, but so good for any service, like oil changes, but my cleaning efforts will surely get better when I have the lift. I wonder how it fits a 1975 GL1000?
@GoldRyderOne
@GoldRyderOne 4 ай бұрын
Thes cost was $890.00 total including everything. I bought mine from the UK and it was delivered in less than two weeks. Servicing the Gold Wing with this lift is great, but cleaning under the motorcycle is a major plus. You have a 1975 Gold Wing?
@but_but629

Two questions. Is it possible to jack the bike up with the Traxxion Dynamics engine guard in place and then remove the engine guard with the bike on the jack? If you remove the rear wheel with the bike up on the jack does it change the center of gravity enough to make the bike unsteady?
@GoldRyderOne
@GoldRyderOne 3 ай бұрын
No, the right-side lift arm will be on the engine guard. I have not tried to remove the rear tire yet. However, I would strap the bike down before I would attempt any major maintenance that would involve the bike shifting. I have seen a video with the back tire removed from a Gold Wing while on the lift. Since I have not done it myself, I cannot verify that process. The lift also comes with some hook bolts, but I have not used them. I would strap the footpegs to the arms if I was going to remove the rear tire. I think I would be very creative with straps.

good video , bought one 2nd hand but it hasnt seen much use , very expensive new here in australia , used it y/day for the first time with my canam spyder 08 gs , sideways vey stable but length wise a lot of movement , enough that we put car jacks under the front and then lowered down on them , once the weight was taken up was very stable but ment could only raise about 1/2 way , on their videos they show as being a lot more stable at max height , dont know if its the way i put it together or what , its a older model but basically the same as yours , any suggestions would be great

@jeffpiper7430 I'm not sure. Are you using the mounting arms designed for a spider? My 2024 Gold Wing goes all the way up with about 1 inch of wiggling. The lift has a lifetime warranty, which is also what attracted me to it. Although there will be a little wiggling all the way up. There should be none left to right (front and back) of the bike. You could contact the company to make sure you have the correct bracket for your version of the spider. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

@@GoldRyderOne thanks tried contacting them but said my big blue is earlier than when they bought the company ( ie.. NOT OUR PROBLEM ) , yes correct bracket for the spyder , bought it yrs ago but sat unused till y/day so cant ask the seller but he had a early spyder as well ... think a lot of the trouble is being so front heavy , if u rock it u get about 6 inch movement up and down and maybe a touch more .... any way good luck with yours as besides my prob they seem to be great for working on all sorts of bikes .....i was lucky the oz dealer retired and only had mounts left he was trying to sell on ebay m managed to buy the whole range of sets for 200 where the company now want 350 for ea set plus postage from the uk
@GoldRyderOne
@GoldRyderOne 18 күн бұрын
@jeffpiper7430 Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. 6 inches or more is far too much for comfort. If this is only going to be used for just your spider, I would take it to a welder and have it customized to your liking. Weld customized bracelets just for your design. I'm eventually going to do the same for my Gold Wing tie-down locations.

I like how strong it is. Made very well. However, how stable is this stand. I get that it won’t tip forward because you have the two steal bars on the floor pointing under the bike. But what about tipping backwards were there is no bars extending the food print in both directions. Also would this work for a 2008 gold-wing?

You can strap it down to the lifting arms for more stability. The support arms are based on the type of bike you have. When I ordered the lift, I had to select the mount that goes with my motorcycle and year.

Dude… great informative video! I have been wondering about this lift since before buying the 2022 GoldWing. I have always kept a clean machine, top to bottom. With aging limiting movement, getting under for routine maintenance, and cleaning is becoming more of an issue. My Craftsman cycle lift is no where near the lift I would like. Even though I have enough credit to purchase about anything, its price has been holding me back. With so much to buy for outfitting the bike, and rider…. I’m saving for this purchase.
