Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery" feels like a cornerstone of the American public school experience-a rite of passage, almost. So many people I've talked to recall randomly reading it in middle school. At my school the short story "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst also delivered its own brand of collective emotional trauma, bonding us all in the process.

Best reading order for Shadowhunters is publication order. The first three then clockwork angel, then city of fallen angels then clockwork prince then city of lost souls then clockwork princess and then city of heavenly fire

I'm currently reading the shadowhunter novels in the chonological time order - infernal devices, then the last hours, mortal instruments, eldest curses & dark artifices and I really enjoy this order, though it is quite unpopular :)

Hi léa! I've read the mortal instruments and infernal devices in both orders and my favourite one is either publication order or adding the clockwork trilogy in the middle of the mortal instruments. So reading the first 3 in the mortal instruments, the infernal devices trilogy and then the final 3 in the mortal instruments. I believe it gives more insights, which come in handy for City of Heavenly Fire🥹

I told my cousin who visited London with his girlfriend for Christmas that he should send me a photo of a waterstone bookshop because a girl that I found on KZbin this year used to work there :D and he got me a bookmark for Christmas from waterstones 😄🩷 sadly they don’t do international delivery, I was so existed when you showed the mortal instrument box!
