I like this song.. and I'm African American. I heard about The Big Bopper from watching videos on Little Richard and other Rock n' Roll pioneers. It has a hip hop feel in a way.

Great clip! One of my favorite songs from the Big Bopper. I remember when the song American Pie came out. I was 14 or 15. Had no idea what the song was about. Sad.

Es verdad este artista esta infravalorado y es un hombre con un gran historial pues fue locutor y disc jokey en una emisora de radio y se hizo muy popular entonces y luego se dedico a la música y además componia para otros y tenia una carrera muy prometedora qué quedo truncada con 28 años en aquel accidente de avión y su hijo suguio sus pasos cantando sus canciones eran muy buenos....

Don't recall that one. Only one knone by Big Bopper is Chantily Lace which Jerry Lee Lewis covered few years later. He could have done this one also, it was truly in his style.

This is sen....sa..tion...al..Got Rhythem ..love the beat and the sound and instruments playing in the band..grand singing..this singer had it all..had enthusiasm and the heart of singing and a hit of each song he bet out..what a legend with just the amount of songs he sang on stage..what a gift he had and had the tune ..loved by his fans in just a s.all amount of time..think how many fans he would had in later times..if it hadn't been for that fatal plane crash..and so young..RIP

No, he mainly worked as a disc jockey for a radio station in Beaumont, Texas. But maybe while he was in school he could've.

lisa j I agree with you. Waylon is only an icon because he’s been around along time. If your Country you may like Waylon more than JP. But if your rockabilly or rock and roll, we will never know what the Big Bopper might have accomplished. I think he would have surpassed anything Waylon has done.
