A trick I practice to see if its variegated is I hold the leaf in question up to the light. Also looking at the back of the leaf. And also looking at the stem to see if it has any streaks. But when in doubt just keep the receipt. If it ends up being sickly not variegated (Haa) you can return it.

Those philodendron get very big. Mine is growing up a moss pole leaves are 14-16" now. Got as a small one last summer

Our lowes had the ppp from costa farms but the one at Walmart has so much more pink variegation but it was from a different nursery and was called a "fancy philodendron" lol.... it has sooo much more pink striping in the stems and bright pink on the every single leaf.... it did cost a little more and it was smaller more compact then the one at lowes.... but I couldn't resist and bought it....I gave my son's girlfriend one of 2 ppp from lowes because I don't need 3...

Here in MO we received 13 inches of snow on top of 2-3 inches of ice…everyone in the path of this weather please stay off of the roads and please be careful with your snow removal. Oh and an update for my Calathea medallion what I have found is consistent watering, more light than you’d think (I have mine in a north facing window with supplemental light) will keep a Calathea happy. There will be an acclimation period of about 2 months. Light trumps humidity as the crisping and spots on the leaves are actually fungal. If you can provide some airflow Calatheas will adapt. I’ve had mine for 6 months now and though we are in winter all of my prayer plants are actively growing

The Walmart in co springs does not have anywhere the selection and just as well. The plants are very ill and show weird spots across species and half are wilting. I ran out of there 😮

My New Years resolution for 2025 is to stop the unnecessary propagation. If I have two of the same plants, I am going to combine them and make one large, lush plant. I plan to stop the impulse shopping and do research before I buy.
