As an ex driving instructor I always taught my pupils to look out for bikes but it seems that most bikers forget everything they are taught when they have passed their test! I always said that in any situation try to defuse it, don’t make things worse, always think of your own safety as there is so much road rage out there now. It seems that in most of these situations raised tempers could easily have been avoided by watching the road and reading it, brake if you think a motorist is going to behave stupidly, watch the ‘body language’ of the car, I have been driving everything from mini-vans to 44t artics for over fifty years and have not had an accident in all those years because I drive defensively; I watch my fellow road users and after a while you can pick out the trouble by looking and acting. It annoys me intensely when these videos or rather the people who make them go out of their way to stir up trouble and create unrest by waving arms and over revving and in extreme cases kicking the cars as they pass, stay cool guys and chuckle to yourself as you pass these idiots and tell yourself you are better than they are and as Broderick Crawford used to say, “leave your blood in the blood bank and not on the highway”.
