I love the challenger, mine has a talisman, ace crew and all the camos totally worth the money. Britain tier 34.7-5.3 is my favorite line up in the game. I've spent all the GE I can on this lineup and it's a total blast. This tier gets so much hate but I do really well with it and there's nothing better than lighting up werhaboos with 17 pound solid shot!

When those nipples bounce discarding sabots they make me furious. I have a very hard time believing it should happen, especially when you only graze the MG ball mount or vision port and your 5 pound tungsten dart is totally stopped. It's total nonsense and the only two spots on a Tiger I that can reliably stop the APDS.

I agree, it's an underrated tank in the British line. The Challenger carried me from 5.3 to 7.0, and all because in spite of a 76mm it's a pretty reliable sniper tank. Good sights too, can see quite well from one end of the map to the other on flat terrain or high vantage points. It's the hunter in a big game hunt, killing tigers, panthers and elephants. Disclaimer: I'm not saying Big Game Hunting is a good sport, just saying it's fun ruining Wehraboos' days in game.

So, I'm probably a bit late for this, but the reason for the large turret on the A30 Challenger was that the War Office made two distinct demands. First, they demanded the tank have two loaders, to mitigate loader fatigue with such a huge round. That meant the turret had to be large enough to accommodate 4 men. Secondly, they demanded 10° of gun depression through the 360° traverse. As the Cromwell had had been lengthened to accommodate the larger turret ring, this meant that the pivot point of the gun had to be raised to allow the depression demanded. Et voila: big turret.

I've never really liked British tanks; but I've also never really tried playing them. I had a lot of GE saved up over the years and millions of convertible RP, so I decided to buy my way up the British tech tree too the Challenger, and I don't regret it. Honestly I think it's an ugly tank; but it has a combination of everything I like about my most favorite tanks in the game, rolled into one. Lightning fast turret rotation Lightning fast 5.1sec reload 228mm pen SABOT at 5.3 It's average/above average mobility Very fast neutral hull rotation -10° gun depression This tank absolutely YEETs rounds at the enemy and mindlessly lolpens everything it hits. It makes absolute mince meat of a Panthers glacis. If I designed a tank myself these are all the attributes I would give it, and the Chally has them all. The only thing I would have added to it is a couple more reverse gears. She's slow too back away

Challenger + Comet are my go to lineup for every event. 2 to 3 hours and you got your 6 kills in one match, 50 overall kills and 11 won battles. And the APDS now pens angled Panthers much more reliable than half a Year ago. Britain 5.3 is an absolute depression-removal lineup

If the challenger didn’t have the -2 reverse speed it would be one of the best tanks ingame, pen anything frontally, get round the map quickly, quick reload and for some reason best of all, it’s turret rotation speed, I’ve grinded the challenger it’s rotation is just incredible and useful in every single situation, especially flankers like pumas if they don’t one shot you from the back

Three words: I LOVE SABOT I used to play the Sherman Firefly. It's a bad tank. I can kill Panzer 4s pretty much anywhere, and they can kill me anywhere, except they have APHE so it's an almost guaranteed 1 shot. And Tigers? Their front plate may be able to be penned, but the radio stack absorbs the shot, the optics on the drivers port are trolly and the MG port is invulnerable. Panthers, the front plate could take APCBC at point blank, and even if I went for the turret I usually hit the coax and the gunner was able to return fire. So, I grinded to the Comet, which was a painful massacre of Sherman crews at the hands of invincible Panthers and Tigers I couldn't kill. Then, I got sabot. And I found a Panther, half a mile away, boldly shrugging rounds off from a Sherman Jumbo. One sabot round, centre of mass, all four crew in one shot. Never has revenge been so sweet. And now, I have the Challenger, and I just got sabot, and I can reload damn quick. I am a big cat hunter. The predator has become the prey, and the hunted has become the hunter. Be afraid kitty, be very afraid. Mwrahaha. (It just got madder as I wrote it :-))

Another thing some players don't realize is that you don't get the sabot round stock at that br, you have to grind for it. In the meantime you have a relatively subpar solid shot. That being said one gripe I have with getting shot at by sabots is how much easier they are to aim. Less accurate rangefinding and/or lead is needed due to the sheer velocity. Btw I I'm at 5.7 with the Brits and 6.3 with the Germans. I'm grinding for the leopard 1 right now cos it's my favourite tank irl. Haven't unlocked sabot shells yet with any British vehicle funnily enough but I have them on the lkpz m41.

The thing about "spawn camping" in this game is... well because of how the maps are laid out it is insanely easy to find yourself accidentally "spawn camping." I mean consider that map. All caps are within direct line of fire to the caps and the norther and southern spawns are bound to end up in the enemy spawns if the move up, take the point and continue on. Theoretically air support should focus clearing spawn campers but in practice we all know that they just die or prioritize other targets over doing anything actually useful when you need them, eh? The game has always had issues with this simple fact and there isn't really any good solution. One thing they could try is making spawn protected tanks also be invisible for a few seconds so they can move undetected and not be sitting ducks when their spawn protection runs out. That way they can potentially run to cover.

I really enjoy low to mid tier games. Maybe up to 7.0 or something. Just because of the vehicle selection and the lack of "no skill" weapon systems like radar, atgm, apfsds-wiiu-nes shells etc etc. Maybe higher tiers are skill too but I don't like to watch it that much.
