Great video! One thing i really like on the dlc: with the smaller Big Bud you get a 500hp tractor for only 225.000 dollar. The other tractors in that price-range have only about 280hp :-)

also, incase you didnt know, the xl toolbar seeder, you can actually attach the larger aircart cart to the back of it for more seeds, also you can use the smaller aircart with the vaderstat (the vanilla seeder), as long as you attach it with the trailer lifter (only one i have tried so far so you might be able to use it with other seeders but will find out later)

That Great Plains one is technically a planter, so it's designed for corn, but it's special in that it will do your grain crops as well. So really I can see that thing being everyone's first big purchase because it will do all the crops, but it won't fertilize. Then that Flexicoil also went funny for me when I had it partially on grass so I think it is a bug they will patch.

the case quadtrac 620 is larger than the challenger. the 620 is 692 HP the challenger is only 646 hp but costs more

joseph jackson the quadtrac has more hp, but it's not physically larger. The challenger frame is currently the largest and heaviest frame on the market.

The Flexi Coil does seem to be bugged, I used it on the North West Texas map which is fairly hilly and it slid all over the place. I don't think the implement itself is heavy enough for how wide it is, which is causing the slide. You might not have noticed, but the four caster wheels on the front actually pivot which allows it to slide. If they were rigid I don't think it would, but that would also make it handle much worse when you turn around at the end of the field.

maybe if you raise it, they are supposed to go loose and then when its lowered it locks them. I am sure they will fix it though.

I'm subbed to Welker Farms Inc, they have 2-3 Big Buds that work their fields. And a neighbor has at least one. And they have some pretty good vids of them working. My favorite thing about that big plow is that it flips. To bad they didn't add a bigger map too, something little more realistic to the size of fields they would work IRL. Been using Claritin (generic) for my allergys for years. Read that it's best for short term and Flonase works best for long term. Now with Flonase (generic) my nose rarely bothers me and I suck on about a 4th of the cough drops I use to.

Arthur Chapman great review. I like how you get into the details and history of this tractor. You caught my interest when you mentioned MT, but Harve MT? Now Havre, located in north central MT on Hwy 2, is where the big bud was made. Grandpa and his brother lived 50 miles west in Chester. Its been 25 years since I was out there, but it not the kind of place you would forget.

yeah in general looks flat. From Grandpas house looking north you can see the sweet grass hills, about 50 miles away. To the west Glacier National Park. But there is also the coulees, like rolling hills, where they would go hunting for mule deer or antelope.

I did make two mistakes. Turns out 16v stands for V16 (dual V8s) and also, the original builder was Northern Manufacturing, not Williams, who owns the brand name now.

I'm in saskatchewan and I've seen a big bud a few times at shows but only a couple times actually out in the field (except for videos) but there are actually quite a few in the area that use the 80 foot seed hawk for seeding

I love everything about this game, so yes ;) - But seriously, if you can only pick one Big Bud is better. But the Kuhn DLC has the Merger and the Square bale wrapper, which are really great for grasswork. I also like the kuhn side mower when on a smaller farm.

the Great Plains seeder plants pretty much everything but doesnt do fertilizer. which is a huge drawback. and the New Holland T9 maxed out only makes about 550hp so not enough to run the Seed hawk but should be able to pull most of the other stuff

All three maps are mod maps. American Heartland and Small Town USA are currently not available for download as the author is revamping his page (though I think both can be had from modhub.us). American Outback is in the games built in mod menu and can be downloaded there. They are all free.

Arthur Chapman No never had the money to do the shots before. The insurances that I’ve had don’t really cover them or don’t cover them at all. So it’d be all out of pocket. That’s the sucky thing about where I live. There aren’t many choices for places to work and the places that are around here offer terrible benefits and the lowest tier insurance plans they can get away with. And it’s prohibitively expensive to buy insurance on my own without some employer group plan.

The Xbox version, the big plow, I put it behind a tractor with the 3-point hitch, it leaves patches of unplowed soil, I even tried the next size down, IDK why is does it, I had a frustrating time trying to plow my fields.

It doesn't - the caddy can carry the seeds, but the hawk cannot plant it.

The 747 currently has 1100 hp. So yes it did get 1100 hp but never while it was being operated. It was only when it was retired that it was upgraded to 1100 hp. The Gregoire Besson plow was not designed for Big Bud. It was simply designed for large farms and most high end 4wd tractors can pull it. And where are you getting the info that states the Challenger is the largest tractor on the market? If it's from Challenger then I definitely wouldn't trust it as they do not have to factually back that claim up. As someone who has seen a Quadtrac and Challenger I'd Say they are practically even. The Quadtrac has about 50 more hp and the Challenger is slightly heavier but other than that they seem to be comparable. Also, the Quadtrac has slightly more oscillation compared to the Challenger making it slightly more flexible.

I can't seem to find anything showing that its currently 1100. I saw an article that says "It could produce 1100 hp if its fuel delivery was upgraded" but nowhere that says its currently is 1100. Would love a citation if you have one. I agree that the QT and Challenger are basically the same - The only thing I said was that the Challenger was supposedly the heaviest and largest frame on the market according to several different "top 5 biggest tractors" articles that I read. The QT was always right behind it. I wasn't referring to HP numbers, only size.

Yes. At one point I'm sure the about page listed it as 1100 hp too because I didn't notice it in the picture until after I read the about page. This was quite a while ago though and seems to have been removed. It appears that the museum is the only one that claims it as 1100 hp which is where Giants got all their info for the Big Bud so I'm assuming that's why they bumped the hp up to 1100 from the original 900 they had it set at when they first announced the DLC.

Yes - check the other comments - I have been corrected like 40 time lol. In general we don't say v after the number, so that is why its confusing. None of us have ever heard of a Lambo 10V, but we all know what a Lambo V10 is or a or a Ford Boss V8, or a 16v or 24v overhead cam (means a 16 valve motor in this case, not V16) - so it should have been listed as a "V16" but whatever. They called it what they called it and the rest is history.

While I understand your feeling, It's not really dumb because a big part of this games appeal is the "grind" for new equipment. If you take the grind away and every farm already has everything it needs, the game gets boring really fast.
