In the 1980s i was a Police officer stationed in Mid Argyll scotland, my patrol area was massive and mainly unpopulated, we had many local people foresters,hunters,farmers etc coming in reporting dead sheep and sightings of very large cats, I myself saw one of them, i was hunting deer within a three thousand acre tree plantation up in the hills which was seeded with 8 inch saplings my view was not obstructed by anything, the plantation was bordered by a 15 foot deer fence, I was atop a cliff lying down and setup my rifle, i then scanned the fence with my high powered scope, i saw what i thought was a black lurcher dog, but as i watched it for about ten minutes i noted that it was moving strangely, it was bounding over the irrigation ditches, I was downwind of it so it couldn't detect me but it was wary, perhaps it heard me, It was black with a very long tail, as i watched it i noted that its coat looked black but from the side it had leopard like faint white patches, as i watched it bounded three times and cleared the fence disappearing into the woods. I wasn't the only police officer who saw it, one night a police car was passing a quarry in the middle of the countryside when they saw something ahead of them, they stopped the car and the cat walked in front of them into the beam of their headlights and into the trees, the following morning they went back to the quarry and took plaster castings of the paw prints, we sent them to the local safari park who confirmed that they were either puma,cougar,or panther. a public meeting took place in the police station but the Police bosses did not want to make any statements on the veracity of the sightings or the outcome of enquiries. I think that they were afraid to admit the existence of the cats , local vets did post mortems on dead sheep , death was caused by strangulation (with bite marks around the throat), after about three months the sightings stopped and we surmised that they (there was more than one) had moved their hunting area.

I was with my boyfriend 32yrs ago in cheltenham on cleeve hill at night. Parked up by the quarry, climbed up a brow and saw it directly infront of us. It was arse end on and no mistaking the tail! We must have been no more than 5metres away. We both ducked down, scuffled back, turned and ran back to the car. No one believed us.

But unfortunately, I now live in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire and there have been many sightings in and the area, prints taken etc. There is a place called Woodchester lakes where apparently 7 people were followed by a panther for over a mile and were so scared in the end they ran! I can only imagine this was a breeding female. You can Google this story. Anyway, we'll done with your work and your channel.

Hi mate, I’ve just started watching your content and it’s absolutely great viewing. I was into looking for big cats a few years ago and it seemed most of the activity was in Wales. I can’t recall the exact area and I wouldn’t post here anyway but a farmer was noticing more and more of his sheep going missing. He went out looking and found what must have been a lair which was laden with carcasses. I hope you stick at it and can keep the vids coming. If you need any help with anything I will but try. I’m North East based in County Durham.

It certainly is infectious haha 😂. I joined a group called ‘Big Cats of the UK’ which had loads of good content but the page then quietened down as I think lots of folk were going hunting in the locations mentioned without any permission and as you can imagine caused a bit of a stir. It’s been a long time since a big cat has been spotted up here in County Durham. Thanks for the reply.

@kevcooke3781 that's the big issue I'm having mate. I have to keep everything as confidential as possible because of people coming onto the site and causing issues. It's difficult because even if I do film something that's so concrete I wouldn't be able to state where it was at the moment. If I break my promise I would loose everything to a degree. There is one place I could disclose but again I camp there alot without cameras ect snd wouldn't want any strange people coming up unanoced. Some basic evidence they usually leave is absent from the cult records. Dogs do the stock kills, hoaxers the footprints.
@df91776 ай бұрын
You'll never find them setting up a hide, thy'll know you're there, even from miles away. Cats in fact can smell, hear and see better than dogs under certain circumstances, and before everyone goes mad about this one let me explain, or just google it!. Dogs can smell more things than cats but a cats nose is more sensitive distinguishing between very similar scents. With sight, both cats and dogs are colour blind to an extent but cats can see more colours than dogs. Cats can not see in the dark like many believe and dogs have similar vision in low light to humans, however, dogs can see more than us in low light. A dogs iris will dilate similar to us in low light, in other words the iris can contract to a pinpoint limiting the amount of light allowed through. This doesn't happen with cats. Ever noticed how a cats iris looks like a very narrow oval slit? This allows more light through allowing them to see better in low light. With hearing, cats have more muscles in their ears than dogs, can hear higher frequencies and can determine hoe far that sound has traveled. So if your trying to find a big cat out there, even in a hide being totally silent you probably won't. They've probably heard you, smelt you and probably watching you from a long way away.
@mountainmantararua88242 ай бұрын
Go to the local council and inquire about the breed of dogs that are registered in that area. Alaskan Malamutes can leave a really big paw print (their paws are webbed). This can then eliminate large breeds of dog. After a while one becomes quite skilled at recognising the types of animals or breed of dog that has passed through and also the age of the print. Take plaster casts of the print and then you can compare it with others that you find. ATB cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺

That call from 9:30 is a Female Puma calling for a mate. Been quite a few of this sort of sounds reported in forested areas down south. Also, a sure sign of big cat activity is scratching on trees, also Leopards and other big cats will take their kills up into trees to feed, so if you find a sheep carcass in a tree, its a sure sign of a big cat in the area. If you want to see how a Panther moves and their character etc then Luna the Pantera on YT is an excellent channel to watch. Interesting print with the three toes, got me scratching my head a bit... Usually if a predator or animal is running it would leave light tracks and in mud longer tracks like scuffs but this is deep did you see any grass pushed down around this or look in the grass near it for other tracks.. and my other question is was there any branches above hanging down or scratch marks on trees nearby. Great video though buddy..it's always difficult trying to camp over a period of time within a distance downwind of what your hunting unfortunately they know your there..I would try next time not going there in that area where you was and grabbing some higher ground outside the area if possible depending on which way the wind is blowing. Just a thought buddy.ohh my point about the deep track without seeing it in person my best guess is it was stalking and laying low or ready to pounce.. sometimes only Three toes show if two are close together giving the impression it's one.

Thanks for coming back mate. Yeah it was odd to see just 3 toes on all of the tracks. I found like 4 or 5 in total but only 3 of those was castable because of the ground. No noticeable other signs but your right they was fairly deep but then again it would of been soft the time they was made perhaps. Slight cracks on one edge would imply it was a considerable weight aswell though. I got a decent 2 casting of those prints but had a few cups of tea waiting for the muck to go off lol I was abit tiered and restless got man cold. I'll hopefully sus it out mate great help 👍🏻

Tracks look like the common hoaxer had passed recently. Fox calls sound like a fox. Experts often have variable knowledge, being from NZ & being a hunter compares to being a Trump speech writer (& cult member), not automatically an expert tracker/biologist. The opinions in any of their hunting magazines/TV shows will demonstrate this if compared to facts. The zoo staff opinions can also have the limitations of the familiar. An Australian vet was represented as having clearly identified a mainland thylacine in fox country, and an SPCA assert a clear cat photo ("we've found it") was a thylacine. But zoos are an excellent source of DNA for hoaxers, hence the DNA big cat record is not proof. If one does exist there (not impossible) trail cameras well set should provide clear (not fuzzy) photos. And interesting other standard species.

Piss poor zoo whichever was shown in the first 30 seconds, that poor cougar pacing back and forth. Big animals need large enclosures, that poor cat was essentially being tortured for life. Not enough woods or wildlife to support an apex predator over there, yall chopped down all the forests and killed off most the wildlife.
