A massive improvement in my opinion would be to link Interchange and Foster Square preferentialy underground, as the latter station seats on a lower level. That would even give the possibility to extend among other services perhaps the Grand Central services to Skipton. Thank you so much for sharing the informative video🚂

Even a underground path with moving walkways would help.

The two existing stations in Bradford will be linked with a new through station to match London Bridge and Shoreditch.

That would be just the ticket!

So, talks about a new quick line to Huddersfield. This would presumably follow the path of the old Pickles Bridge line via Baliff Bridge and Brighouse Clifton Road, avoiding Halifax. I remember the bridge being removed on Wakefield Road, for this route near to where the M62 roundabout is now

The Pickle Line is set to become part of the National Cycle Network.

It will likely (or hopefully) be a new high-speed alignment, on a Manchester-Hudds-B'ford-Leeds line also linking to other cities in the North

@darleytransportandtravel6353 Boris Johson agreed to the electrification of Leeds to Bradford following the cancellation of Northern Powerhouse Line. The point was that putting electric trains on which accelerate quicker would mean more trains between the two cities. Therefore, a fast line to Huddersfield would mean a connection between the Leeds Bradford Interchage line and the Transpennine Route. That would occur at Leeds and could be part of Network Rail buying the land at the former Wortley Curve.

Bradfords stations have been dogs for decades. Even worse, Bradford has a knack to make them worse as each year goes. They push Forster square any further back and the platforms will be in Bingley.

I sometimes wonder why they allowed the Forster Square retail park to be built. It's very busy and successful, but it's basically an edge-of-town shopping centre with free parking that takes footfall away from the traditional shopping streets in the real city centre.

@@sarahandwillsit's brilliant if you have a car and bit something from Currys or Argos for example. Fat now practical than Broadway in that regard.

Are the two Bradford stations going to be linked?
@craigambrose43752 ай бұрын
Only if you knock down the Crown Court and The Broadway Shopping Centre. So no.
@theronster3533Ай бұрын
Hopefully, the Crown Court is indeed in the way, and depending on the alignment further north, perhaps they could get away with only limited alteration to the back of Broadway shopping centre. Either way it would be well worth it in the long run.
