Alabama has been playing a 4-2-5 around 75 to 80% of the time for several years. The coverage is different in Wommack’s system which should simplify it and increase takeaways.

Let's be real Alabama the last two seasons have not very disciplined. They overcame it in 2023 just off talent alone to make the final four. In 2022 Alabama was a penalty machine. I am not knocking Saban, He did what he did. But based of the last two years there is room for improvement. There was a slide in how Alabama played ball.

Well ok, everybody keeps saying 4-2-5 is gonna be GREAT! I am not a believer yet, UW ran that while Texas ran a 4-3-4. In general UW looked like 4 DL, not 2DL and 2 OLB, maybe this will be effective but I believe in 3-4-4 fundamentally way more as a scheme. But I don't get to choose. I simply think 4DL are more vulnerable to blocking schemes 6 on the "front" vs 7. We shall see.

I like Greg but this entire piece made no sense. First, it was mostly about who was likely to play by position so really nothing about changes. Second, why write a headline about big changes and then basically refute that point by stating the obvious that we played nickel most of the time which is basically what Womack’s defense is based on?
