BIG 'CHOO CHOO' TURBO NOISES around Brands Hatch... in the wet!!!

You all know Ive been talking about taking Project Compo out on track... Well the day finally came. MSV put on a fantastic event for us Ford boys. It was well organised and safe at all times. Lawrence and Steve were on eachothers bumpers for the whole evening. I on the other hand was getting to grips with the driving the Fez at high speed out on track. I will be the first to admit i was a little off the pace, and so had to call in the expert help from James. Which was definately money well spent! With every lap comes a little more experiance and confidence. Im looking forward to developing the car more and booking another track sesh to get faster out there.

So good - getting the tuition is an excellent cheat code IMO worth more than more track time/mods good to leave the ego behind. Excited to see how the Fiesta develops but let’s be fair track days on their own are expensive enough just to be out there you’re winning 👊🏼

Sound awesome! Like you say, seat time and confidence in knowing what the car is gonna do when pushed is key. The confidence in knowing the cars handling is usually the most important thing, so you got a good idea of when you gonna crash or not lol. enjoy!

Great vid. Quick note, unless you are changing gear have both hands on the wheel. If you do start to slide you will need quick steering input not a gear change.

Is your gear change sound? Looks like it was slightly more tricky than needed to be - last thing you need on track is thinking about working around niggles.

@@JWxUK I’ve fitted a quick shift and made the lever tiny which means it’s super close to all the gears. Not ideal in going to extend lever so it has better throw and there’s less chance of grabbing the wrong gear

Great to see the car on a proper TD. That's where you soon find the limitations of a build. Those Toyos are terrible on the road let alone track so don't beat yourself up. If you have the option of boost by gear do it.

@@Nashy027 boost by gear is defo an option and one of the reasons I went for the maxx ecu. I’m looking at getting some AR1 cut slicks for the next set of wheels I’m building. Should help out on the corners a bit. And your right the toyos are like Lego tyres lol

Ah I made it from sheet aluminium and welded it all together. It’s like an oversized mk1 xr2 boot spoiler.
