Great video, with the way they releasing characters shifting to a power core unlock meta they should at least have a few 45 shards unlock characters to relieve a little bit of pressure, thanks

I'm a new player player got the lvl95 time heist with 100+ days played and as a light spender in this game mostly spend on passess every now and then when I'm having gold crunch or training mats. that's because of the pace they release toons and the faster unlocks from previous months I gotta catch up. but now that we have to wait a month probably to unlock new toons but now I guess don't have to spend anymore cause I will use that waiting time to build up previous teams like Illuminati ,Alpha Flight ,Mercs for Money, Out of Time and Cabal who are sitting at low gears.

Not sure, however seems like they are making up for some of their releases. With 3rd strike. Iron heart level 60, leader lvl 60, also sasquatch got leveled up to 60 guardian and etc. Oh and thanks endgame lvl20

If they're expecting us to use the character orbs they should drop the cost of them, 675 cores is like what? $8 an orb or some shit? Have them be 500 cores. That way, if you're finishing top 10 in the arena, you get 1 orb a day. That's still dog shit but it's also an improvement if this is the new expectation...

I would not core the last character on the team. You will probably unlock them 7-10 days for free after you unlock the 4th person. I would save cores for characters needed for elite characters or characters like bk.

But also I don’t begrudge ANYBODY that wants to spend money. It’s your hobby do it how you want to. But there are a lot of spenders that are very vocally getting upset by the changes. And many people who sometimes buy characters offers also very upset. And to those people, this option is for them. I’m not calling for anybody to do anything…

My problem is not the delay in character unlocks. My problem is they need to also push back events by an equal amount. Spenders will have a 30ish day early access advantage in game modes. Not pushing back the events that we use those characters in them is rewarding spenders and punishing f2p too much.

This release put a firm cap on my spending. Orchis raid is unbearably boring - either sim the nodes with established 'teams' (skill/mutant/bio) you have or bang your head against the ones we don't have the 'team' (tech/mystic) for. And their 'solution' is going to be dripped out of a leaky faucet over the next... what? Two months? It's not fun. Orchis isn't fun. And Scopely's solution is for me to what... pay for another piece of the Orchis team that... will still leave the raid as a frustrating mess because three piece doesn't fix anything? And what is my eventual reward when I do unlock the full team, after all these weeks of frustration, a month or two from now? I can... sim the tech nodes? I can 'not' play the game? It would be one thing if beating the Orchis raids was itself the means of opening the team which made it easier (you know, like traditional end-game mmo stuff) but Scopely is telling me I can't even enjoy their raid until I get a team... that will then make it so I don't have to play their raid. And that doesn't even get us to our Mystic team, just the Orchis team. It's not even the release methods themselves that bother me. It's the fact that Scopely clearly no longer wants to pretend like its making a game. It's a gacha machine. That's all it is. Everything in the 'game' is an excuse to get you to pull the lever. If you are enjoying your team, in Scopely's mind, that is bad, because you aren't pulling the lever. So I expect every character now to be enjoined to an un-fun set of modes/events/releases to try and push players into pulling levers. A misery machine intended to siphon cash from the people who remain inside the loop. So I'm going go ahead and leave the loop and spend my money on an actual game.

Agree. The advantage to spenders over ftp and low spenders is too big. If they’re going to ruin the game completely for ftp then there won’t be any ftp anymore. They will simply leave and that will destroy the game.

Shifting out character unlocks to 30+ days is extremely player/consumer unfriendly. Pass-buyers may be spending over $1,000p.a. but still would not have access to characters in a timely manner. From a profitability perspective it's also extremely short-sighted, at best generating a short-term sugar-hit: the game needs content creators to maintain or grow the playerbase; Content creators need a large pool of viewers to be able to dedicate their time to producing engaging content; to get that pool of viewers a sizeable pass-buying and free-to-play player base is needed (as this is still the vast majority of players). If you alienate those players by pushing out unlocks further and they become less engaged or stop playing, that chain collapses and the medium-term profitability of the game will deteriorate.

This game got boring as soon as I hit level 100 months ago and the only fun I found was getting to use to new toons and characters and I’m still excited for battle world but if they steer away from f2p I’m out period

It’s not going to be straight gacha. 😂 I’m not going to make the Reddit post, but I think Boundless messed up. About 2 years ago the game was in a horrible state. I think they over corrected and made the game too player friendly (from their pov). Now they’re trying to balance that out, but the problem is when you go from very player friendly to less very player friendly, that’s not how players perceive it. It’s simple relative deprivation. Basically, for players the very player friendly is the standard for what they think is normal now. So they feel like the game is becoming player unfriendly. When in reality, it is still player friendly (it’s just not as player friendly as before).

Straight up I won’t buy orchis, three strait teams with this new “unlock” and I use that term lose as fuck and honestly orchis looks like a dog shit team with little use outside of their raid which is an awful raid and literally zero fun to play
