That text at the end is "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot, it begins from one line wide and then continues with two line wide on top of it. It also has a bunch of words replaced. Here's the list of what I spotted: "Men" is replaced with "Horse" "Headpiece" is replaced with "Bridle" "Rat's" is replaced with "Boy's" "Cellar" is replaced with "Stable" "Prickly pear" is replaced with "Horse stable" and "Whimper" is replaced with "Whinny" The middle portion of one line wide text is the hardest to decipher, with overlaps and the drawing "covering" most of the text, so I couldn't notice anything there. Also, unlike "hollow men" and "stuffed men" of the 1st part, "empty men" at the end of 4th part doesn't seem to be replaced. I'm sure someone will consider that important.

25:55 What Door implied with the Crystal in a bullet casing is technically a real thing. The HK g11 used a type caseless that when the round was fired would go up with the gunpowder. The only real drawback to this was a similar situation to most caseless ammo… it was to costly to mass produce compared to brass casing ammunition. And D’s idea of firing the bare crystal is, ironically enough, relatively similar to the Gyrojet rocket propelled bullets. The very thing that inspired the original Bolter in 40k.

For example the woman with the slit mouth that asks you if she is pretty and kills if you if you say no and cuts your mouth if you say yes. Apparently if you say you have somewhere to get to they will politely let you go. Or more traditionally, Kitsune might be seductors and mischevous tricksters. But they apparently make perfect wives if you can get one to marry you.

Funny coincidence, there’s a trilogy by Dante King called The Arcane Lawmaker that has a vampire hunter protagonist with the last name Cross who’s doing so out of revenge for his family being killed by vampires. The main difference is it’s a western story in a fantasy setting and it’s a harem story… though come to think it one of the love interests (introduced in book 2) is a succubus so… 🤔

I mean I wouldn't say first draft is supposed to be "shit", but its supposed to be rough because you are supposed to do more work on a story than doing it on one go :p Like writing first version of story and publishing it would be like filming a movie where you use first take on EVERYTHING. Like I'm talking to a choir here I assume, but releasing a draft is sloppy work because it means you didn't even read your own story to rewrite errors you spotted on your own :'D Like even if everyone is blind to their own errors, you usually spot something on your own. And even hypothetical "talented writer who knows what they are doing and writes really good first draft without grammar errors" should ideally ask for feedback because taking feedback and discussing it is important part of creative progress that pushes and inspires you to improve. Lot of people fantasize about being such a good writer that they can skip all the hard work and in progress miss the most satisfying part of writing and self improvement which is working with someone good at giving feedback about how to improve the story further

The video was overall very nice, but oh, you're such a silly killjoy sometimes it's adorable! The edginess and taking one's work way too seriously is what makes fanfic so delightful to read, like a window into someone's feelings, inspirations and interests! Except instead of opening that window just a bit to let you take a peek, a fanfic author from the early 00's would smash it open with a sledge hammer! It seems like (I assume from that one weirdly specific example?) some sort family-related embarrassement event may have caused you to violently cringe at things that don't look right and proper to you? Along with your college stuff and such. If that's the case, doesn't it seem that you could be repeating the harmful traits of those people who would feel embarrassed by you expressing yourself to begin with?

Airier - Believe it or not, the kappa lore is actually accurate. They are a Japanese yokai that inhabits rivers and streams. They are very fond of cucumbers so throwing one to them could be used as a distraction, or if you carve your family name into one and throw it downstream to an inhabiting kappa your family will have good fortune. As for the bowing thing, their head is shaped like a hollow bowl with water in it and they have a reflexive politeness. If you bow to them they will bow back and spill out the water in their head, which will render them helpless.

Major mythology and folklore nerd here, I can confirm everything D says about kappas is accurate to Japanese kappa lore. Also, tricking kappas into weakening themselves by reciprocating a bow isn't that unique to them: a surprising number of yokai can be defeated by exploiting Japanese politeness. For instance, both the sea monster umibozu and the ghost kuchisake-onna can be convinced to leave you alone if you just tell them you're too busy to deal with their shtick right now.
