Unbelievable those bucks will come in to you with all your moving around and white faces shining! Crazy stuff. Whitetail will respond to rattling but are much more aware. You really have to camouflage everything if you want even a 30-40 yard shot. But I learned many years ago to fully camo up to add the odds a little more in my favor. I also wear a loose-leaf suit and cap as it breaks up the human form. It works well.

Yea righto. I’ve called in heaps of deer over here in aus fallow, axis, Rusa and reds and sometimes don’t even have camo on and always seem to get them in under 20 yards. Only ever get busted by a wind change. Sometimes the bit of movement even helps and they seem to really beeline for me.

Shit you boys have got that rattling sorted . Do you find they respond better to rattling early rut and tend to lose interest once they mob up with there does ?

Yea mate definitely better off early rut especially for older bucks. You’ll still get young fellas and the odd old buck if you can sit your self in the right spot once they’ve locked down with females.

It only just hit the back of his front leg mate. Was nothing more then a cut. We seen the buck 3 different times over the rut but he’d busted a big chunck out of his antler fighting so we left him be.
