Props to 1:07 Mr Ben(?) IMHO one of only reasonable riders in this entire video. There are a few more decent riders that I’m noticing as the video progresses but for the most part I’m seeing So many hard hands and sloppy leaning back on kidneys…your horses aren’t going to last , and while they’re here, they’re going to be miserable. That being said, I LOVE the trail ride culture- wish I could join a group like this (but NOT on asphalt, so dangerously slippery and hard on horse’s delicate legs)

Saw just about three riders that weren't hurting their horses mouths. People it's wonderful that you are having a good time. Times are hard and we need this, but please believe me when I say there is a better way to ride horses. You need to train obedience. When you do that, you don't have to hurt them to "control" them. Even the training is done without hurting them. Use equine psychology. Educate yourself on how they learn and reverse psychology. In my country it is normal to ALWAYS be taking riding lessons when you own a horse, even when you are world champion!! #ankyvangrunsven (and I am not even a dressage rider, just making a point) and yes; many of these horses are in pain. As a horse owner, you are at least expected to be able to recognise their body language/facial expressions. And ps: learning horsemanship skills are amazing and empowering. You will love it!!

@@Itsthehorsegirl Going on the defensive comments from the uploader i have to disagree. One thing about learning is taking a hint when people are putting forward valid comments. These styles of riding are dying out. Just needs some brain retraining and retraining the horses. Bits are harsh. The lean back riding style must be murder on both the rider and horses kidneys. The breed always looks underweight. But the one thing i can say is the base of the riding and getting out is way better. Compared to that shit show clown show of the Big lick. Jeezus what a horror story that is.

@wolfiemix8 ай бұрын
He is not "riding". The horse is showing obvious signs of pain. Remember, horses are prey animals so they don't usually voice their pain, but rather show it through subtle signs in their face and body language. He is pulling way too far back and holding the reins wrong. He is also sitting too far back and is wearing harsh spurs. Only experienced riders should wear spurs and they should be the rounded ones, no sharp points. That kid knows nothing about riding. Riding isn't about control. It's about trust and the friendship you have with your horse... a partnership. By inflicting such pain upon them and not even taking the time to learn how to ride, they are showing they don't give a shit about the horses and instead use them until they don't need them anymore, only to send them to slaughter once they become lame from such horrid treatment. I have seen this happen before. I've lived in areas with people like this. It's truly heartbreaking witnessing such blatant abuse.

@@calgal5752 TWH. Yes I do know about these. What about them makes them different than other horses besides their gait? According to what you are saying, it must be that they can’t feel pain. Or that they don’t have kidneys or ovaries so it isn’t actually painful to sit so far back on them. So saying I don’t know anything about this horse doesn’t mean shit. All horses are horses. It doesn’t matter what breed they are, they all feel pain. Your comment makes no sense and instead of breeding horses, maybe you should go take some english classes and learn how to form proper sentences that relate to the subject for which you are referring to. Thanks!

@@GALLEN-vf7uy whoa now. I seriously think your videos are awesome. I can’t help I’m one of those stuck up “English” riders who don’t ride gaited. Yet I would happily ride with you guys and try it the way you all do. No hate what so ever. I guess my comment came off as judgey and rude. Which is it. Yet I’m sure you know that not every single rider is perfect. I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of abuse. So I think I saw a handful I wasn’t crazy about. Yet grouped everyone together. I’m sorry. Just a KZbin comment and I get kinda in my head and carried away. Keyboard warrior like. Truly my bad. I watched this all the way through though and it made me smile. Wish we had something like this here. I’d sign right up! Have a great night!

@@GALLEN-vf7uy I don’t want to seem like I’m running away or not taking ownership of my shit comment. I guess that’s why I’m on both sides. If I say something bad that then “change my mind” when confronted that’s a bit cowardly. So that’s why I said it that way… If that makes sense…. Completely see where you’re coming from.

Interesting celebration of horses. What breed of walking horses are they? I never knew this existed. Looks like so much fun 5:55

Just a bunch cheap mixed up breed - basically all they do is a poor pacy gait. I didn’t see a good walking horse in the bunch. Mostly what the call racking horses.

They are not pacing. They have different gaits, one is so smooth you move fast and dont have to post. Pacers move both right legs then both left legs.
