Hi mate may sound abit daft but could you possibly do a video how to fill out an invoice and how you would work out a 50/50 spilt also pay for a labourer i wanna start my own gang but its a struggle trying to find a partner appreciate any advice cheers mate.
@Tone_Team Жыл бұрын
I have an invoice template on my Shopify store mate. Its pretty simple really. Add up all your lifts, get the total, deduct the labourers money and split what is left between you and your partner. I always done price work on my own, never split it with anyone. I never saw the point in that if im honest

Hi Chris, I can only comment for our area, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and our sites are busy with a good forecast going forward. There has been a shift towards social housing rather than private housing in our sites but we remain busy! We are based in Swindon which has its own little economy really, Amazon have built a huge distribution centre, Honda is being repurposed and market here is very strong

yeah you are right about a 5 and 2 squad is about right, team work is key, however you always get 1 in the squad who thinks they are in charge or better than the rest, also you have stragglers hanging around when you want to get home, then you have people who get in late then go home early, not many squads stay together long

That is nice size gang. Very few gangs bigger than that that can keep an eye on everyone! They are about but few and far between. I like 3 and 1 or 4/5 and 2
@PaulM.-de5qr23 күн бұрын
Best squad 2×1,as long as the 2bricklayers are top pros and top labourer. Nothing comes close to earning power for a top 2×1. Big squads are for yes men and pets. When you know you know. Cut the profiles up for scrap.
@Tone_Team18 күн бұрын
2 & 1 gangs are super efficient, not sure about cutting the profiles up though 😊

Tell all the 2 and 1 to pack it in then you have no bricklayers , I've seen plenty big gangs fall apart take what you can get stop bending over for the houseing companies giving them all there own way , bricklayers need to get back in charge and relies there worth ,
@Tone_Team Жыл бұрын
I didn’t say they had no place. Re watch the video. I think it’s fair to say bricklayers have realised their worth over the years. I’m only talking from my perspective, it is ok to have a difference of opinion or listen to what others may think 👍🏻

@Tone_Team Жыл бұрын
I know the Scaffold was messy but fuck me give people a break. We have just had the wettest March since 1981, it had heavy showers most of the morning, they done well to stick it out. We have very few programmes where a 2 and 1 can meet it

@@Tone_Team a bit of banter mate happens to every scaff at some point just messes my head up we like to chase the motivation as you alluded to so on site at 7am quite often leaving at 5 - 5.30pm not many want to work that way so last 12 months have just stuck to 2/1 I think an apprentice is the right way next so they come up in our system

Ive worked in a few diff sized gangs over the years..Biggest was 4+1 ..(Subby was on the trowel in that gang)...Personally i like been in a small gang..1+1 for me..(apprentice if possible)...Your 100% right...Small gangs are not gunna put a dent on the big gangs it just aint happening...I find when your getting 4+1 and bigger you need everything to flow just right.. Your talking thousands of pounds a week to find in wages and all it takes is the forks to break down,silo break down,scaff dont turn up etc and your knacked...I find as a 1+1 you can wether the storm a bit more as you dont need to find that same kind of money everyweek..( I personally underbook and leave money behind for that reason)As a 1+1 you can always do a bit of customer care if u cant get on your plot so atleast always earning..Its horses for courses and were all different..Some like been in a big gang some a small..Ive found what works for me....Good vid i think ur the first ive seen address it

We tend to leave the bigger gangs to handle a site on their own site so they have the lions share of the work and avoid delays! I do personally like a 5 and 2, sweet spot for me

Big gangs can only work if the forks are any good. If not your never getting the gear when you need it. Have 2 drivers on our site and they don't add up to 1 driver.
@Tone_Team Жыл бұрын
Forklift drivers are integral to good sites, we tend to have quite good forkies on most of our jobs to be honest! If they can't keep the labour going then the labour gets reduced 👍🏻

Yeah yeah, wettest March since 1981, been heavy down pours all morning long and they still stuck it out to try and get on. Very easy to criticise, not the point of the video. What about the other work? Nothing to say about that? I really don’t understand how someone can take away a dirty scaffold as there biggest takeaway from a video.
