Very well thought out commentary. I do hope you continue the vlog. The issue with KZbin flagging gambling content is a concerning. I understand why certain types of gambling content should be censored from a platform like this but it seems like they are putting a blanket over this entirety of the issue since there are adults enjoying professionally done material for an adult game.

i think the Ace of hearts in your hand in that bluffed pot can allow you to lean towards a fold, if that applies w/ ace on board.. always a tough spot. if he did river the straight tho i think a value bet is more likely in the spot. great vid as usual man.

In the A 10 hand you had the ace of hearts, this would lean me to a fold as way less bluffs with heart draws.
@TheGreenFire414 жыл бұрын
yeah but that logic doesn't really apply when there's an Ace on the board. Even when hearts miss the villain still has lots of showdown value with top pair, so no real reason to turn his hand into a bluff. I agree on the fold though, tough to make that call.

I had a Verbena once, and I will never have one again. Long story short, after having one I spent the last two and a half days of my Vegas trip last year in my hotel room because I needed frequent access to a bathroom. Can't say with 100% certainty that it was the cause, but I'm not willing to have another one to see if I get the same results. Poker related though, I have still yet to play at the Wynn even though it is ALWAYS on my to do list for Vegas trips.

That's such a gnarly spot with AT hand. I think maybe, depending on the player sometimes you can find a call. But holding that Ah makes it real difficult for him to be bluffing. I'd have folded.

On the KQ hand, some of hands you mentioned as being better calls are actually worse calls. Facing this line, your opponent’s best hands are strong flushes or better. You want to call with hands that block those hands, which means you’ll call with QX or JX before KK, and possibly even before a weaker flush if you happened to have one.

On the A-10 hand vs "Brandon" it seems as if there was a big timing tell by the speed in which he moved all in. I was thinking it was an instant call because his decision was made before the river even got shown. Perhaps I'm wrong, but from your description of the hand it sounded like he ripped it in right away. This often signifies a missed draw. A hand that has you beat might take his time and go for value.
@alexlorenzo63 жыл бұрын
Mariano, at 18:00, why didn’t you re raise the $100/bet with pocket aces? With a pre flop raise of $25, why not target over pairs like 9’s and 10’s to extract some value? In my opinion, 9/10’s are calling a re raise of $275 on that board texture. Just wanted to understand your thought process. Thanks bro! Great channel.

When you are in Houston in the next upcoming trip, see if you can play at the Texas Card House where Wes Cutshall usually hosts his 5/5 NLH game. It would be cool if you and Johnnie could play in that game. Warning: their buy-in is no cap, I believe, and the players typically play it a fair bit bigger than the normal 5/5 game you see in California.

at 12:18 i would say its not the best play by you, just because if someone has a heart flush draw so they wont stop putting pressure and keep on betting maybe even shoving. i personally wont fold there and i would put my opponent on busted flush draws or busted straight draws. but it is a very tough spot there but you gotta call there.

When you had 66 he likely had a pair 1010-KK. Good solid line there.
@jambasket2114 жыл бұрын
On the AT hand, when 98 arrives to the turn and faces a lead, it’s very unlikely that it calls another bet, let alone a raise, as the K is one of the worst cards in the deck for 98 to see as it takes away the jack outs by creating 4 to broadway. With this, the river jam makes little sense. Pick this one off!
@jacobalbarado49934 жыл бұрын
Can't wait for you and Johnnie to come to the lodge in good ole ATX

I like your reasoning and fold with the KQ. If it's a solid reg he can be bluffing some percentage of the time, but like you said you have better hands to be calling with there. It would be brutal to call and be shown something like 7s8s.
@OGecalien4 жыл бұрын
His fn hand was good. Super nit plays here on this blog thing.
@DD-vc7fq4 жыл бұрын
You gotta pay more attention in some spots. I am not saying it is an easy call with AT there (especially holding the Ah), but you have to realise that this player should not have 89 on that board (based on the action) since half of his outs (J) put a 4liner for the broadway straight. Also, considering the fact that there are two hearts down there and you could very well be raising AXhh, is there any point in paying the bet with 89 there (unless it is specifically 89hh)?
@DD-vc7fq4 жыл бұрын
basically most obvious candidates for his holding are: overvalued worse two-pair hands missed fd very weird QJ that will happen 1 in 100 times (i've seen some people flatting OP then just shoving the river in these spots, but very rarely) 89hh specifically since no.3 and no.4 rarely happens, i think this should be a call at the end of the day.

KZbin has millions of videos uploaded in their system daily, good luck that they reply to you. It was the right fold but a great bluff by Brandon ( who dresses like a magician). With the A10 hand, what do we think he is shoving for value on that board? If he had AK he 3 bets pre, if he had QJ he is 3 betting you on the turn, and you block AA and 1010. Also, I don't agree that a random 89 is the "most obvious draw" on the board. Hearts are the most obvious draw on the board. Further, most players aren't going to be calling a raise on the turn to draw to a straight when there is a flush on board, especially because 89 is drawing to a straight that's not the nuts, AND if a J comes it is beat by any Q. So, calling your raise there with 89 to catch a 6 only?? I don't see it. Idk maybe I'm wrong, but for me that's a call on the river. GG gl next time.
