Big Hike Training: Mt Harvard & Columbia Traverse from Horn Fork with Jennie

So I’m getting ready for a two week, 180 mile hike of the Collegiate Loop around the Sawatch Range in Colorado, on the Continental Divide and Colorado Trails. So I snuck in a few training days.
Jennie spent 3 years doing trail work on Columbia with the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative. So I was psyched to see here handiwork. But first, we gotta hike up the Horn Fork and make a camp, go have dinner at Bear Lake, and get a sleep.
That was a 12 mile day, and we’ve another 12 mile day to climb the South Route on Harvard, traverse the gnarly two and a half mile ride to Columbia, and come down and collect camp and walk out. It was awesome! So awesome I didn’t get a single snap for five hours of summits and ridge traversing and great company. But I did bust out the camera for the best part, Huckleberry Feast! Enjoy.
