Yep those kids are doing drills from the late 70, early 80s, while the tackle may be legal doing that drill is dangerous. That's how we used to weed out the weaklings. Well it also had a couple kids I know never play sports again because of neck injuries or just plain scared to hit. Horrible now that I look back in it. And we had good coaches who just didn't have the info at the time. Abusive

thing thats weird about football is someone is always in trouble. if you get a block the defensive played gets chewed out but if u miss the block the offensive player gets chewed out. but in baseball you can have a hit in the gap where its no ones fault or some 16u pitcher clocks in at 88 with a curveball at 75 and you just have to tip your cap

@mythickey51603 жыл бұрын
it's actually one of the best drills to build confidence with hitting. and your gonna get hit almost if not every play in football. this teaches you to plow through the hits. the hit was way worse than it could have been because the kid with the ball did not lower his shoulder at all so it looked worse too.
@Mirsif83 жыл бұрын
Bruh what 😂😂 they wont get anywhere without these drills
@armondocortez15413 жыл бұрын
It's not the drill it's not matching up the players right. My coaches would do that sometimes for entertainment and tell me to run through weaker kids. But sometimes match with equal hard hitters over and over just watching us go at it. My son won't play tackle football. Too many pysically and mentally healthier options out there.
@shawnthegamer82523 жыл бұрын

From what I watched in this video, those kids were coached the correct, and safe, way to tackle. Getting young kids to stay focused on anything is a challenge in itself. So for the coaches getting them to stay focused enough to learn, and retain, what they're being coached is an accomplishment in itself. More importantly, they got the kids to apply everything they were coached. You don't see that very often anymore. them the correct way, apply what they were coached.

Noticed how the defender got more coaching than the ball carrier. The ball carrier should’ve been taught how to protect himself and take on the tackler. Most people don’t know how to teach a kid to keep their shoulder pad level lower than the defender, and split half his body instead of trying to run over him square-up. Levels to the game.
