Big Hollow Forest Fire. Motorcycling on the edge.

The year 2020 was the Big Hollow forest fire was raging in southwestern Washington State, USA. On top of this, there were 3 other large forest fires blazing just south of the Columbia River in Oregon. These four fires created the worst air quality index ever recorded in the state of Washington. A normal air quality index for this area is 17. On the day of the motorcycle ride, the city of Vancouver posted an air quality index of 475. Since 1902 Washington state has experienced over 33 forest fires each consuming more than 50,000 acres each.
This video is a dual ride over the same route During and after a forest fire. The first ride during a smoke-filled forest from the Big Hollow fire on Sept. 12th, 2020. The second ride was on May 13th, 2021. the video displays a comparison of how thick smoke blocks out sunlight and dramatically restricts views.
