A little story about a John Deere dozer....The company I worked for once in Westford Massachusetts got a new 750 dozer I was gonna be running and me and another worker went out back to check it out at the end of the day . As we were getting through a wooded area 3 nice bucks ran across in front of us . They had been by the new Deere dozer. I couldn't believe my eyes. When I was 14 I was fortunate enough to live on a free stall operation in Upstate NY in Amsterdam and the owners had a 3010,4020 and a new 5020 lucky for me I got to drive them .

Excellent compilation yet again, in the good ol' green and yeller. I especially liked the planter footage -- I felt like I was right there. That 36 row Bauer-built is a beast! I like to watch the outermost tires when they turn around as one side of the machine barely moves (or even backs up) while the other side comes racing around. And it looks like it would follow gentle ground contours really well. It's also cool to see it fold up. That operator is skilled to pull up as the tongue lengthens and keep the planter tracks basically stationary. Easier said than done. I wonder how the tire experts would compare a set of 520/85R46 triples vs 800/70R38 duals? Keep up the good work. I assume that's your grey truck we see in the background in some of these clips?

Just before I comment on the video itself, have we ever noticed that farm equipment dealers never put their new inventory in a large shed. At least from what I have seen combines, large tractors and all other large equipment is sitting outside exposed to all weather elements. Machinery requiring large amounts of investment should be in a barn as far as I am concerned. I dont see dealers doing that. Of course the same for the farmer buying the new equipment. When I say barn or shed I mean one that has a cement floor and is heated during the winter months. About the video I see in the comments some people are amazed at the size of the planter. These large size planters has been around for 10 years now--more. Your video is real good and naturally I enjoyed it. BTP, hope you have a good day and thanks for showing a good video.
@bigtractorpower
@bigtractorpower 4 жыл бұрын
Keeping farm machines under roof is important. Dealerships have too much iron on the lot to keep inside. They also do not want to keep equipment in stock more than a month or two. They want to sell it and send it on its way. Car dealers are the same. Everything is kept outside but it is turned over quickly. Once the equipment is at a farm keeping it in a shed is very important. My local New Holland dealer is the number one New Holland combine dealer in the United States. They do keep many of their combines in a pole building on the lot. Yes the DB90 was introduced in 2007.

BTP, now I understand dealerships reasoning about having their inventory outside. Also I kinda thought that the DB90 was already on the market a little before 2010. Thanks and have a good day.@@bigtractorpower

Why do they bother with markers on the planters when GPS is used?
@bigtractorpower
@bigtractorpower 4 жыл бұрын
The markers are used to mark the outside boundary of the field when they start planting on the first pass around. This farm also runs a DB60 planter so when they get in a 1,000 plus acre field they will drop both markers and run up the middle. The DB60 follows on on one mark and the DB90 follows the other mark back.
