Such a nice man as many have said. He left us far too early.

I got a chance to meet both him and King Kong Bundy when they walked into my auto body tech school back in the early 80's. Turns out my teacher heard myself and others in my class talking about wrestling and he told his sister in law, who was a secretary at the WWWF offices about it and they showed. What we didn't know, was our teacher was good friends with these 2 legends. What a Great day it was.

John Studd was way too nice for the wrestling business. He was a heel aka villian, in all interviews like this he was nice and extremely polite, you would never expect him to be the one who cut Andre's hair or be part of the plot to turn Orndorff against Hogan. He put over Hogan big time here. I miss Big John!

My mum, who is all of 5 feet 3, Adelaide airport Australia and waiting to collect her bags. An arm went over her head, grabbed a bag and clear pulled it over her. She turned and saw the biggest human she’s ever seen, Big John Stud. She described his gold horse necklace and how he was so wide he was “vast”.

Met him when i was around 8 years old. He was a mean heel at that time with Mid-Atlantic. I believe he was wrestling Black Jack Mulligan that night. My mom knew one of the ushers who let a few of us kids go down ringside, this was about 2 hours or so before the matches. John came out just to see what was going on, and talked with us a bit. One of the nicest guys I've ever met. Back then the guys got into trouble if they stepped out of character, but he was so nice to us.

Andre disliked John because Studd was using Andre's Gimmick stepping over the top rope. Andre told him to stop stealing his bit. But John refused to duck through the ropes. So if you watch their matches Andre manhandles john every chance he got.

As a lot of people say, Studd was just far too nice to be in the wrestling business and this interview does back up that a little (he is suppose to be a heel at this point, and he is far to face here)
@ben84472 жыл бұрын
Was he not under contract to Vince here? Doubt Vince would have allowed him to an interview like that and have his heel be all nice.
