My Dad was a miner he worked at Brookhouse and Manton and its a real shame its all gone just like the steel works, but as Brexit looms it may be possible that they have to re-open some of the old mines as the price of coal imports soar???

emotional just watching the vid knowing this was the only pit left & now its gone & all mining in the uk is over all cos of a greedy government whos goal was to screw the country over

jason adams it was the last deep coal mine in the uk we still have open top mines and it is very sad to see it go but unfortunately it wasn't profitable

I certainly won't miss coal itself - it's just a shame about people losing their jobs.
