Today cost me thousands in equipment but technically I didn't fall in the canal though 😂 I did manage to save the clips to make this video and navigate my way home without Google Maps but I lost everything else on my phone including lots of videos of little Johnny so I am pretty gutted about that 😭Three guns in five minutes was insane so we will have to come back for sure! Gutted for you Leigh but I've messaged twice now about putting a line with karabiner around your gimbel & tie it off like you do with your magnet line, but make sure the line is pretty tight so it can't fall into the water! You can always easily put a shortener knot in the line to quickly & easily adjust the length to suit each site

You can get things that loop onto cameras and phones that float. I have one for my underwater camera and it acts as a wrist band too. Definitely worth it considering your phone seems to love swimming!

I would love to do this in my local rivers but so much wood and logs in the river . I learned that from fishing and getting snags all the time. Only small fishing boats go on our rivers. The rivers flood hard some times and metal that gets washed in to the rivers. The Susquehanna river. It starts in Cooperstown NY and down to Virginia and then the ocean. The American Baseball hall of fame is in Cooperstown . You got some great places to go magnet fishing. It sucks you had to go in and ruined a lot of Equipment. Dry up and have a Great Day.😊

You can buy waterproof cases for iPhones and still mount them to a stand or add a float attachment. I’ve used them for scuba diving and in your case with an external mic the audio won’t be impacted

Hi mate , i know it's a bit late but with your track record of losing phones this maybe a good idea lol , try to get hold of some polystyrene and mould like phone life jacket and even paint it orange.. So if "when" it goes in again at least your be able to retrieve it right away .. make it so it can detach of course .. also on cracks use some grease it will buy you some time to get the phone back .. anyway just an idea ..

Try looking into some sort of high visibility float to put on your camera. You dont take them underwater so you dont care about being able to dive, boyency would be best.

Turn off everything right away. Put your phone into a ziplock bag of rice right away. Keep it in 1 week to 2 weeks. Blow it out all dried stuff with canned air after......should help. Worked with mine. Maybe you need to keep an emergency bag of rice with you just in case of this? 😉
